This will hack your child

I got this for my son and it completely hacked his phone and gave it a virus the phone would not turn on and when it did there were no apps and no App Store or settings so he could never get on his phone and I had to buy him a new one

Not great for Apple
AnnoyedAunt

I really wanted to like this app. I have been using the iPhone’s free screen time tracking in family sharing, but it wasn’t accurately measuring screen usage. I really liked this app’s task options. I got my teen to read a book to get more screen time, without even asking! But on the iPhone, it didn’t function on her device (8 plus) very well. It kept locking her out before she even reached the limit. It kept sending me a message that she had a issue with her app and must of swiped it away, even after I showed her not to close it down but to keep it running. Additionally, for Apple, you can’t see what apps they are actually using. It just shows and Apple and the time amount they used it. That isn’t helpful. Even more annoying is that, at the time limit, it would shut off the WiFi (she doesn’t have cellular yet). Without the WiFi it wouldn’t send me the request for more time, or if I granted Free Time, it wouldn’t tell her phone and allow her to access her apps. We tried it out for a few days; we deleted it from device management and deleted and re-installed the app. Still with issues. She hated it from the start, but for all of the teenager reasons. I thought it would be a great tool to truly limit screen time (unlike the Apple screen time), but I don’t think we will continue. Tech support was great! Fast and responsive when I first raised my concerns. But ultimately their fixes didn’t work. I hear it is great for android. But Apple isn’t there yet. UPDATE: thanks app developer for the response. We may try it again in the future if the issues are resolved. Such great potential.

Useful app with app specific control

I use several apps like this and Screen Time is the most flexible for being able to precisely control app access by app and time of day. My kids don’t like being restricted of course but I explained it before doing it and they accept it.

Kids can work around app blocks
bmuse79

I appreciate the plan to block any and all apps on my teens’ phones, but unfortunately one of my teenagers was able to work around these blocks to her detriment. We blocked all social media and chat apps on their phones, but when they received notifications from either these apps or from text messaging, they were able to swipe that notification to view and reply regardless of whether it was outside of their time limit, past the bed blocker time, or completely blocked altogether. Furthermore, any usage of the app in this way was not recorded and reported in my daily screen time usage report. So we had no idea it was happening. My daughter was able to work around her app blocks and communicate with someone who turned out to be a predator on google hangouts for several months. Please help us keep our kids safer by tightening up security on your app.

Bad Reviews Have to be Kids.

This app is amazing. I can pause the tablet at any moment from anywhere. I can see where he goes, what he does, what he watches, and how long he does it all. This app is amazing at giving parents control over what their child does on their electronics. I also like that it tells me doing what they are playing or doing at that moment.

Nothing but headaches with this app
hdhffcdfhh

I have two children with the screen time app and with my older child, this app keeps locking her out of her apps randomly which sometimes affects her school work (if using her phone). With my younger child, she downloaded the latest update to her iPhone and this app stopped working. I then had her reset her phone to factory settings and attempted to re-install the app but I am unable do that because the instructions are outdated and does not apply to the most up to date iOS. There is no customer service number to call or any other contact information that can be readily found. Very frustrating.

You need mental help if you put this on a child’s phone

Only partially worked, customer support lacking
85thKing

Location tracking only worked intermittently. I could send messages through the app. The app said that the child's device was paused, but in fact it did nothing, I would expect an error message to be shown on the parent device in that case. Contacted customer support via chat, I left the chat because of how long it took to get a response after the Initial boilerplate response, then came back when I was emailed. We weren't able to resolve the issue. The most worrying thing for me was that the app reported everything was fine and that it was in control, when in fact it wasnt doing anything (child phone was unrestricted).

Do not get this app
this app is hproble

This app is horrible.I am a teenage girl and my mom wanted me to spend more time with the family so she found this app. I absolutely hated it. Also it didn’t work. The screen time thing did nothing if I went over. So my mom said I could delete it. So I tried deleting it from her phone first and now it is stuck on mine. I can’t get rid of it. I 100% do not recommend this app to anyone. There are tons of other apps that would probably work way better.I understand that creating an app is very hard and challenging but if it says that it will cut you off at a curtain time it really should. Also, if I delete an app I don’t want it to still effect my phone.
