Scout is Excellent!!! Scout GPS Link needs to be improved!!!! I downloaded the app, linked to my new Toyota and the app doesn’t work. The app is also frozen on my cell phone.

All these apps send out updates every 2 weeks and can’t even explain what’s in them. They are involved with phone companies to take up all the space in ur phone so u will buy another 1

This app wants to take me on routes that are less than direct and have gotten me lost in north NJ several times. On the way to my daughter’s, it took me almost 20 minutes out of my way.

When first starting driving, app has actual location WRONG by at least half a mile more than 90%, thus making directions at beginning of trip more miss than hit. Doesn't properly show location for at least 1-2 miles of travel, frequently as much as 5 miles. It's NOT the iPhone, it's the app itself. Apple Maps, by comparison, gets location and directions correct 100% of the time right from start. By the way, I confirmed that the US National Transportation and Safety Board and FCC both require GPS apps like this to have location right 100% of the time within 30 feet, not wrong by half a mile or more! Please fix this asap!

The message below was from a long time ago. Now IV'E STOPPED USING SCOUT ALL TOGETHER. It's leading me in the wrong direction and telling wrong information and street names all the time. This is for a year now. IT'S CRAP!!! Love scout, but prefer the previous color and layout. It's 99.999% accurate, but can sometime lead you in the wrong or circuitous direction if you don't know the area. Have sent messages but the problem still exist.

I left my original assessment below for comparison. Versions created since the original have not worked out. Much more difficult to use. Recently added a feature "on my way" which is pulling from an old contact list and doesn't find my wife or either of my sons as they entered with first name only. I have used many navigation apps and Scout is "head and shoulders" above them all. Many subtle features the others haven't even thought about.

I have used this for years. Recently it has given me bad directions sending me miles in the wrong direction and just to the wrong end of a street sometimes. It has also told me to turn the wrong way on to one way streets. Then it just shut down and told me to pay. I would happily have done this, except they never text me the code as they state they will.

Does not work at for me since the update. What a waste of a download and my time. I would give it a 0 star if there was one.

UPDATE: I tried contacting the developers about the issues with this app. It was a huge pain just to figure out how to do that, because it's not intuitive. They finally sent a rude response that implied I'm misusing the app or that I didn't keep up with updates, and it's not their problem anyway. I'm done with Scout. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This was my go-to navigation app. Even when it suddenly changed my directions and led me on a seemingly out-of-the-way path, I'd find out later that it was steering me around a new accident. Now not only does it give bad directions (the destination is one exit north! Why send me south for two exits just to turn around?), it just randomly lost all my recents and favorites, including my home and work addresses. It says I'm still logged in, so it won't let me log in again. The estimated arrival time used to be spot-on. Now it's waaay off, generally in a way that makes me very late. I miss Telenav. Scout, either get yourself together super-fast or I'm looking for a new app.
