Multiplayer doesn't work

meiguo5

There are great card game apps that work well with multiplayers. This is not one. You cannot connect to online friends. It tries to do it through Game Center, but does not connect and sends the invite through text. Would be great if it worked.

Fun Game but multiplayer doesn't work

Rorafyn

Kudos for the graphics, game play, and the fun of this game , but no working multiplayer really limits the game. Playing the AI gets boring. I've never found another person on multiplayer in the 3+ months I've had this game.

Worth the cost

Just a really fun and fast game!

Great card game, great app!

Would love to see buildings expansion.

Great game

Ericdabears

Great 2 player option for fans of the game Puerto Rico. This plays just like actual game.

Great adaptation of the card game!

24 NOV 17 update: this is the original version of the game, which lacks cards like the Cathedral, Residence, Office Building, Harbor, Goldsmith, Bank, Park, Guardhouse, and more. It uses the old price for the Prefecture (3), and has the old rules for the Guild Hall (2 points for every production building you own). Some people feel that the original game was imbalanced, but in my opinion that’s patently false. Yes, it is possible to run away with the game if you get a Guild Hall early and then manage to build only production buildings. You can win with an early Prefecture if you manage to find a City Hall along the way. And if that happens, good for you. Sometimes poker players get dealt a full house. It is a card game after all. There are ways to try to thwart these strategies. The most obvious is to bury cards under the Chapel. Less obvious is to time when you discard them, to make them less likely to show up again based upon the number of cards left in the deck. The newer version of the game is essentially a different game with new strategies and options. That’s great for veteran players who want some variety. But if you’re new to San Juan, then there is plenty to like in this original version. Decent AI, fun with any number of players. One nitpick with the Gold Mine: normally all players can see the cards that are drawn. Also, it seems that the harvest tiles are randomly shuffled after every "Trader" selection, instead of being shuffled when the "pile" is exhausted. Still a wonderful game!

Smooth port to iPhone, decent AI

Dave with iPod

Addicted to this game! I mostly play the single player game type. The AI for San Juan is solid. The translation to the iPhone has very few frills, but it's extremely loyal to the card game version. I love the automatic scoring (really hard to do that when playing cards). If I would improve anything, it would be to make the table cards identifiable for opponents without requiring a separate view. **Update** the iPad version of the game makes the cards on the table visible at all times.

Love the game, but...

iRivetHead

multiplayer doesn't work. No excuse for this. Fix and I will give better rating.

Not bad

Arch-jag

Same comments as above but still a fun single player.

Great port of board game, missing expansion

hecteuro

Needs to be updated with cards from the expansion to improve variety and fix significant balance issues (looking at you especially, guild hall).
