Best solution yet for urban hikes

IRDave

I've tried a number of apps for creating and tracking routes and RunGo is by far the most functional. For urban stairwalking, I needed an app that would provide turn-by-turn prompting without needing to stare at or risk dropping my phone while walking on uneven surfaces, in the dark, etc. The web page makes route creation super fast, easy and customizable, so I can put in detailed information, such as stair counts, points of interest, which side of the street to walk on, etc. I recently got an Apple Watch and the RunGo app for the Watch lets me hear the prompts and see directions, with my phone safely in my pocket or a backpack. The best part is that I can create a route and make it available to others who can get full use of it for free! While you don't need to make any in-app purchases to use it, the premium routes are cool. The developers are super helpful and keep improving the app. I purchased the $9.95 access only because I feel like I'm getting way more than that amount of value from the software, and I think it's worth supporting a solid product such as this.

BEST RUNNING APP EVA

BEST RUNNING APP EVER! I love this app I think this is the best running app ever for personal training or preparing for a marathon or run. I like then little voice telling you how much you ran but there is very very minor room for improvement. All the improvement I think this app needs is a way to tell Siri (or your voice assistant) to say the exact mileage and time you've been running instead of checking out your phone. Yes I know it's sounds a little more lazy but trust me you want to save all the energy you can into the RUNNING part. But it's only that I would be fine without it. Over all BEST RUNNING APP EVER!!! Period.

Extremely useful for mapping runs; mixed results with watch app

Rack Ball

This is by far the best run-mapping app. And the audio directions work well. It is an awesome feature. As with other third-party watch apps, however, the stand alone run tracking has mixed results. ALSO: the developer is responsive! Thanks!

it continues to be updated. $10 well spent.

Awesome app for planning routes

stanlemon

This app is one of a kind in its support for planning routes. I'm not a runner, but I like to bike and the paths I take are not well documented so I use this app to lay them out in advance. Their waypoint UI is the easiest to use and it's just a really solid route planning experience. I cannot recommend this app enough, don't mess with the various other options on the App Store - this is the one you should be using!

Everything thing else is bloated

I feel ripped off

I wanted a simple running app without the bells and whistles I never use. Especially the social sharing (which often feels forced on you). But it had one exceptional tool - mapping type route ahead of time. I couldn't figure out how to do this on Runkeeper or MapMyRun, both of which seemed to be bloated and greedy with unwanted promotions or features.

Love this app

I travel a lot, and I love to try new routes. This app is perfect, easy way to create new route or just find one close to you. The best part is the GPS features that let you know where to turn without looking at your phone. You get the notifications by audio while still listening to your favorite music. I fully recommend this app.

Best walk/run app for Apple Watch

xnipec1

I've tried several apps with my Apple Watch 2 for basic running activity tracking & there are only 2 that can do everything I need- Nike+ and RunGo. I have to say that RunGo does a better job. Nike keeps crashing on my watch after 6 months of use and updates. All the other apps (MapMyRun, Strava, Endomodo, Runkeeper, etc) either won't let me go out for a run without also bringing my phone to use all features or I cannot hear feedback through my Bluetooth ear buds that are connected to my Watch. For some reason, app developers have not made their voice coaching in their Watch apps play sounds through Bluetooth earbuds when they're connected to the Apple Watch except a few. Seems like a pretty obvious inclusion to me but apparently not. RunGo not only allows me to listen to my music on my Watch but also gives me my run stats every quarter mile through my Bluetooth earbuds AND will give my directions to a run I mapped before I left the house too! This app is totally underrated. This should be on several best app lists.
