Why I love being a sitter for Rover

rjeidbeie

I got into River sitting after I used their services to find a sitter for my dog. I have run a business before and it was a big headache to run every aspect of my business. Rover makes it so easy for me by providing exceptional tech support, the Rover guarantee, a platform where I can obtain clients that are within my comfort ozone and commute-which I can let people know how far I will travel. I love that they give both the sitter and the owner a coded phone number for safety measures along with handling payment processings. There’s also community support with other sitters with excellent encouragement and tips plus basic guidance for me at all times. Any time I have reached out to tech support for help with refunds or modifications, they are always very professional, helpful and help guide me through the process in order to build my clientele. I can’t say enough good things about them! THANK YOU!!!

At some point I must have signed up for this, I’ve done password reset and tried logging in with Google, Facebook and Apple and it won’t let me log in. It says it sending me a password reset but I’m not getting anything. Def super annoying!

Solving problems

I shave had a couple of times when I wanted to adjust charges for my clients. Rover answers my calls and meets my requests in just a day or two. Far better than many organizations!

Active & happy stay for my border collie/lab

Michael was great with my 40lb dog and he appeared, happy, loved and well cared for when I picked him up. I plan to use these folks again. A gem sitter in Edmond. Yay!

Weaponized Against the Sitters

You better hope every job goes well. If it doesn’t, Rover will throw you under the bus in order to bend over backwards for Owners. It doesn’t matter how long you work for River, how many five-star reviews you get and how much money you make them. When a poorly-trained dog bites you or busts out of their fence, their so-called “Support” never picks up the phone. When your abusive ex uses the app and your own dog to harass you, Rover won’t ban them or protect you. You’re rolling the dice signing up to be a Sitter, so I pray your jobs always go smoothly. If it wasn’t for my trusted repeat clients and their fur-babies, I’d have walked away from Rover more than a year ago. They’re the only reason I’m still a Sitter, because they actually put in the work to TRAIN their dogs.

Sketchy

I have 2 dogs and had been using Rover with one particular sitter. She happened to be unavailable for a quick 2.5 day trip, so we had to use someone new. Long story short, my dog is a rescue (which was disclosed to the sitter) and is use to living in an apartment. The sitter had a back yard, so neighbor-dogs barking through the fence was new. On the last day, he was barking back and forth with the dog and the Sitter wanted him to stop. Instead of calling him inside and rewarding him with a treat, she tried to go out and grab him by the collar. He didn’t like that obviously so he snapped at her hand then immediately let go. All she got was antibiotics from urgent care and an $88. Rover decided to ban BOTH of my dogs and delete my account before I could even leave a review about the sitter. So now NO ONE can know, which doesn’t protect the pups. These dogs stay get boarded 4-5 times a year and this is the first time something like this ever happened, and Rover only protected the sitter. I’m moving on, but thought I’d give you guys the heads up.
