A few more features would be really nice

Chyleen

I recently retired from teaching Drafting in college for 25 years. I have been using Room Planner for many years on my iPads. I love the way it allows for viewing in 3D and adding materials & textures. I would like to have the ability to move multiple rooms or multiple items at the same time, and to mirror/reverse a room or the entire plan. The ability to import a 3D element from a CAD program like AutoCAD or SolidWorks would allow for an unlimited modification feature. Of course curved walls & windows would also allow for modern building practices to be included. Finally the ability to show a roof and some porch rail elements would really put Room Planner over the top for me.

Junk since last update!

It was good in the past, now they have updated it to basically an un-usable product without tons of add on. It is junk!

Nice but could be even better

Easy to learn and fun to use. Today I used it on the fly to show a client how a king sized bed would fit into her bedroom. So it is useful. But it could be better with more options in the add on catalogs. More colors. More patterns and textures. Expand the furniture options -- or allow for easy reconfiguration of basic pieces. Allow for changing the predominant color of items like Turkish or Persian rugs -- that sort of thing. Allow for importing items from other sources -- or partner with key furniture companies to provide images. Focus more on options for key upholstery and case good pieces -- less on silly accessories. Finally -- allow flexibility to change catalog views and group items by category despite the original catalog they were included in. Would be great, for example, to see all seating options I have in one spot regardless of whether image came standard or was a purchased add on. I would prefer a beefed up app like this -- and willing to pay for add-ons.

Keeps crashing

ex-die hard user

I loveeeeed this app. Can't tell you how many hours I've spent just messing around and creating floor plans or used it to rearrange furniture in existing rooms in my house. Worked awesome on my iPhone 6 no issues ever. But then in June I got an iPhone 7 and I literally can't make a single plan. App crashes every time I save (which defeats the whole point of paying for premium) and distorts the rest of the rooms I wish I could insert pictures to show what happens. No help from tech support.

Good features, easy to learn

Overall good app for creating 2D and 3D plans. Lots of great walk through and visualization capabilities. Could benefit from mor material options, furniture & fixtures as well as architectural choices.

Really love it, but there is room for improvement.

I have used Chief Architect on my desk top for years. That being said, I also haven't used my desktop for the past three years so I was really pleased to find this version in time to help my daughter plan her dorm room. The 3D rendering in this app is awesome which helped my dd visualize better than the 2D. Copying my basic plan, I was able to easily change the square footage for best and worst case scenarios to show her what kind of storage she could accommodate. The generic boxes are very useful, and I was able to represent the floor cushions we got for her room. By using the boxes and the paint option in 3D, you can create adequate representations of objects that are not available in current collections. That being said, I agree with another reviewer that being able to add your own carpet or fabric would be an improvement. My husband and daughter both have good imaginations, but they don't extend into the realm of decorating as much. As for collections that I would like to see, one with basic, standard dorm furniture would be great. More curtain variations such as one curtain pulled back to the side would be useful. Tower fans, floor fans, and table fans would also be nice. Towel bars would be good, too. Considering that we will be doing this for the next 4 yrs at least. I don't mind buying more content.

Could be better

I am only 11 but I find it very entertaining I love it but I don't think that you should have to buy stuff all the bonus stuff looks so cool I also think you should be able to make roofs?

Need to delete wall sections

muffincubez7

This is a somewhat useful app. I am a Chief Architect user. I do have the paid version of this app, and its simple but it's too too frustrating that you can't delete walls! It would also be amazing if you could actually stack your floors to see how windows line up, etc.

I want my money back!

I can't believe I paid for this! This doesn't do much of anything. You can't add extra walls, alcoves, etc. I've been f$&@ing with this piece of crap for over an hour. Instructions are useless. This whole app is useless. I'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF!!!!!
