It’s like slack, but less annoying, and you can run your own instance.

I’ve been using Rocket.Chat for a few years through my .org and it’s a great way to privately or publicly communicate instantly with our supporters, our members and each other. Wishlist: I’d love to see searchable inline text beyond the buffer and a way to freeze it to prevent scrolling when there are numerous people chatting at once. Thanks for this great app.
Needs Improvement

App works but it’s not intuitive. For example, when writing a post there is no way to paragraph posts. It seems one must enter the post and then prepare a second post to break it up. Meanwhile another poster might intervene. Also problems loading on Apple devices.
