Love most of this App

imjoshnewton

I use this app a lot. Every day. At least once a day. I have two issues with the app. The first isn't a big deal but putting storing ssh keys o a server from this application is annoying. I have several servers that don't have a root password and only use ssh keys for login. I wanted to use the same key that I use for Terminal on my Mac and have stored for other applications such as sftp, which other iOS apps let me do. But for access in Remoter, I have to save the key somewhere and add it from another machine. That's inconvenient but not a deal breaker. The second is my main issue that actually effects usability and makes me want to throw my phone across the room. Every time I open the app or come back from a server session the search box opens and the keyboard. Why anyone would want this is beyond me and there at least needs to be an option to disable it and maybe an ability to send scathing remarks to whoever thought up this terrible user interface function. Please remove this. It is the worst.

A waste of money!!!! Do not bother.

Broken on El Capitan

No longer works with Mac OS 10.11. The SSH version it uses is incompatible.

Use This All the Time

I use Remoter VNC to access my MacBook Pro that's usually half a house away. It is fast and full-featured with a great interface. If you need a reliable VNC, I recommend giving this one careful consideration.

Best VNC app for iOS

Modest serving

I've used this app for a few years and it's never let me down. Love it! I only ever use it for VNC and RDP, but I like the interface and its stable.

Best VNC client

The best VNC app I have tried. Works great with UltraVNC multi screen. The best on screen key shortcut bar of any client

The worst VNC client I've ever used

This client is so buggy it seems like an alpha version, or a proof-of-concept rather than a fully-developed and tested piece of software. The keyboard functions are unpredictable. The screen updates are slow. It puts a weird black bar at the top of the screen that never goes away. It overlays the standard iOS Wifi/Time/battery overlay on the full-screen VNC setting. The trackpad tracking is either too-slow or too-fast (ie., mouse jumpy). I'd report feedback to the developer, but there are so many problems with this software, it would be a complete waste of my time. I've never requested a refund for iOS software until today. Avoid.

Unsupported and buggy

Doodaddy

The function keys (which is why I bought the app) are located in the middle of the screen, above where the on-screen keyboard would be (if I didn't have a Bluetooth keyboard). From the forums, turns out this is a known issue -- one poster even pointed out to the developer how he could fix it! But -- no love. This is an old app, not updated, that shouldn't be on the App Store at all.

Great Product—I have used for 5+ years

I have tried many, perhaps all, of the iOS & Mac OS X remote desktop clients of which I'm aware. (I look anew from time to time.) I have spent almost two thousand dollars for such software over the years. I routinely use Remoter VNC (mostly from my iPhone, but occasionally from an iPad) to access Macs from cellular data connection (including fast moving cars (while others are driving!) and 3G settings) and random WiFi settings. I am able to rapidly access a desktop, take actions (some very complex) and disconnect with assurance. I don't recall being disappointed or surprised. I have used Remoter VNC for 5+ years across many, many versions. I find the keyboard UI good-to-great and the pointer control excellent. The SSH Tunnel works well. I have a very strong technical background, do some development and tend to very picky and critical, but I can't really think of any issues. I recommend Remoter VNC to anyone remotely accessing Macs. (I don't talk to many folks that use PC. :-)

Works great, and has since my iPod touch 1st gen

I'm writing this on my iPad mini and I'm just amazed that this app is even still around and working. I'm not an advanced user of Vic clients at all, only using it to remotely control in-home either headless clients or basically as a glorified remote for Netflix on a desktop. In a Manhattan apartment though, this thing is my lifeline and the reason people think I'm a magician. Also great for doing tedious crafting in MMOs when you're not at your client. I don't get the negativity here, or the insults, I navigate this thing fine and I'm really not that proficient with it so really, give it a shot. I haven't had trouble with it in many many years of use.
