The pc side of this working wants to use idle resources on pc. Without trying to make it sound super scary.... no no. I’ll use one of the other apps that aren’t so.... terribly inviting of themselves.

After countless apps and time. Finally found an app that can wake my Mac from sleep plus a lot of either great features as a bonus. Please don’t do anything to change the way this app works in an update. It works great like it is and is literally the only app that works. I won’t be able to find another if it gets broken in an update.

Comcast won’t allow airplay to Apple TV with their Xfinity instant TV app, so I’ve been connecting my MBP to my tv via HDMI, and now with the remote control app I don’t need to leave the couch. What’s best is I was able to create a custom remote specifically for Xfinity streaming using the player’s keyboard shortcuts, and now I can quickly skip forward (no commercials with DVR), reverse, pause, and adjust the volume. Definitely worth the pro version price tag for the custom remote upgrade!

The developer needs to explain what features are included in this version of their product. They are certainly not the features listed in the product description. It is a tedious effort to poke around the UI to determine what works and what doesn’t. I also found the UI to be non-intuitive. For many of the features that do work, it seemed easier to walk to the other side of my home and just use my Mac’s keyboard and mouse. Clearly this app is designed to encourage users to upgrade to the one with the features that are actually advertised.

The Real Great One
This is by far the best remote app for my Mac I have ever used. It works extremely well and the developer is very active with updates and bug fixes (it’s rare there is a bug but when one does pop up it is fixed very quickly). The app is all around great, I mainly use it as an iTunes remote for when I’m using my Mac to watch movies on my tv but I’ve found it’s great for long downloads or installing new software because I can mirror my macs screen and control everything without having to get up. Definitely worth every penny. I paid full price and this is my honest unbiased opinion. After countless apps and time. Don’t usually write app reviews but I’m so impressed with this app. For a lite version, I can do everything I need to control my Mac while it’s running my projector. Super responsive even after being idle for hours. Can’t recommend enough.
