Fantastic stories, awful app

Rnjoyner

The stories are really good. Gripping, well read, I highly suggest Remade to sci-fi fans. The app on the other hand is not so good, weird double audio, hard to navigate options, and slow to update, it feels like they tried to make it too complicated. Hopefully they'll get it fixed up before folks get tired of having to start and stop their listening experiences!

Great. And pricey.

Love the concept of the "Writers' Room" and different takes on the fictional universe. The first series of both Remade and The Spy Who Came in from the Cold were very entertaining. The price of the 2nd seasons, however, is prohibitive.

Poor business practices

Dig one of their stories. Went to purchase a second season. Bought the season for $20. No where did they state this was not for the complete second season. I was allowed to download half. Then if wanted the second half of the season they asked for another $11.

SerialBox is the Netflix for books, but better.

The line between books, movies, and episodic shows is pretty much erased thanks to SerialBox. Read or listen to addicting serial fiction easier than ever before. I love this concept and I love this app!

Good reads

(:) smile guys

The books are great and I’m happy that I can access a book on my phone when I finish the one I have on hand. It’s come in handy pretty often. I wish there was an option where you could write your own story though. I write a lot and was in need of a way to publish when I got this app. I just wish there was a way to publish one of my stories to see if other readers liked my writing.

Excellent serial fiction

Like podcasts? This is the app for you. Like reading short stories? Ditto. Excellent authors working together to tell elaborate stories -- and you get one chapter per week. If you subscribe, you get both the audio and the text, and a discount!

Really cool first chapter

James Stuart III

Neat idea, a short story a week. Really like the first chapter of bookburners.

Serialized novels? Great idea!

Options exist for books, that's no surprise. Serial Box has created an innovative take on literature. Installments are a perfect option for telling stories. I'll certainly be coming back for more.

Promising new approach to online fiction

Chakwin

Remember when the TV serials with cliffhangers at the end of each episode first appeared? And it took a whole season to get the whole story? Well, that used to be the way it was in publishing. Authors wrote by the chapter and people had the enjoyable frustration of waiting for the next chapter to appear. And now it's back. Beginning with a really promising start by the wonderful Max Gladstone that will keep you from hearing the phrase "lost in a book" the way you used to for the rest of your life, and with another serial on deck for late October, this software brings on-line publishing into the world of TV serials or the old serial novels. It's as easy to use as can be and not expensive. An app like this stands or falls on the quality of its content. With Gladstone's "Bookburners", the content is first-rate: what starts off like a police procedural rapidly swims into the deep waters of fantasy, magic, the Vatican (of course), and on and on. If Dan Brown could read this, he would burst into tears and never write another page. Meanwhile, fans of Tim Powers, Philip K. Dick, and (of course) Gladstone himself will have a fine time reading what's there and trying to figure out what's coming up - just like in any other serial. So great start to what could be a great addition to the online reading world.

Excellent

A very cool way to experience a story, and I am really enjoying Bookburners, though initially I was only going to check out Tremontaine. One quibble: the audio does not remember where you left off. It begins again at the top of the audio file, no matter what. A sync capability a la Kindle/Audible would be marvelous. Nevertheless, excellent.
