Why is the app suddenly filled with dozens of links to news stories?

I’ve just noticed this over the last couple of days. Today, it seems that every other entry is not a question but rather a simple link to a news article. I already subscribe to Google News.... I use the Quora app to answer questions.

This is not going to be a rant about Quora overall. Quora is fine if you stick to following things you’d like to find out more about and stay away from the gossipy trendy topics. Pros on the iOS app. More stable in this version. More style options in the editor. Cons; pictures will not upload from your phone, and I should be able to find my drafts without jumping through flaming hoops. The pictures thing is not a deal breaker yet. I can compose a draft on the phone and finalize it on my Mac, because, iCloud, but I’d like to do it all in one shot sometimes.

Hating news and articles links on my feed

Quora implemented a beta feature on my account where they added links of articles and news on my feed without my consent. This is annoying and very irritating. There’s no way to disable it except manually muting each sites which does not seem to work since I muted sites several times and yet I can still get links on my feed. I quit social media for a half a year now to avoid content that I do not want to see. I now only use Quora because of its content. Now Quora is doing this new feature and many users does not want it. My husband’s account does not have this beta feature and I do not understand why I have this annoying feature. I contacted them several times to ask how / what to do (twitter and Quora contact page) but no reply. After muting sites for multiple times, I ended up familiarizing myself with Reddit.

Quora only cares about their advertisers.

Quora recently removed question details, so forget about adding any kind details without linking off-site. When you use Quora, you are the product. Don't invest your time thinking you're helping share knowledge because you're being used to make the owners rich.

I love Quora and i'll use it for hours but recently i've noticed that you can't have question details? It really helped when explaining myself and now I can only link. Please do fix that!

My new favorite app! It is way better than yahoo answers and response time is way better in most cases at least. I still have a few un answered questions. I love to look at topics and read other people's questions and answers.

This site is known as a liberal site. They quarantine your comments when they're not in favor of liberals views. When they shut down your views they NEVER pin point what they don't approve of, it's as bias as SNOPES.

This app ALWAYS crashes! It's working one moment, then it says it's offline!..I pay my bills and have perfect connection! FIX YOUR 501 CONNECTION ERROR! REDICULOUS!

Very good crowd sourced information acquisition app

I really like how you can get advice and information about questions you have in life. This app is about spreading that kind of information to educate people. Some-what like Ted, but more social and informal since the people answering questions are everyday professionals or people with related experiences. Note not every answer should be taken to heart: there might be questionable answers from questionable accounts, but on average, my experience has been really positive. One thing to note is that Quora sends me notifications a little too often, robbing me of my time. So this can get quite overwhelming for me. For this I'm knocking a star out.
