I’m happy with the Quora service for what it is. The workflow is awkward. The editor is too “helpful” in enforcing the house stylebook, but it’s understandable, all the cool kids (rhymes with “tedium”) are doing it. The terminology is confusing enough that I’ve posted two answers in three years. You have to read closely to distinguish ads from content. Bookmarking is more a loophole than a feature. “More features” aren’t the problem. But THE CONTENT HAS ME COMING BACK. (Sorry to shout but after all that it’s only fair to Quora to make it eye-catching.) On balance I’m okay with the service. I am not in the least happy with this app. iOS already has a way to make a home-screen icon for a web address. There is no need to push the same thing through the Store and call it an app. Quora had a clean slate for reformatting its content for mobile screens and refactoring its workflow into iPhone-native features. I didn’t find any of that before deleting it. It’s possible some improvements were right under my nose and I can’t remember them because the persistent annoyances drowned them out. That’s not better.

Won’t Login//Really Slow

I was so excited to get this app and it won’t let me login or do anything and each thing you try to load takes forever and never succeeds. Lame.

Stop forcing updates

karmakeys

Completely frustrating to clock on a Quora answer only to be told I need to update before reading. Screw you guys

Clearly a Scam

I spent a fair amount of time on Quora frequently becoming a top contributor on several subjects. But beware Moderators and Admins there have self-serving agendas. Corporate shills will censor content by closing, moving and renaming topics. They silence dissenters by banning them. For example, I was allowed to go “just so far” until too many readers viewed my content on Herbal Medicine and Admins stepped in to tidy up the topic by renaming it several times over several days. Ultimately this particular topic was managed by pharmaceutical professionals - details found in their profiles. At first I thought Quora was a wonderful resource, especially because Jimmy Wales the Wikipedia founder was an investor. I’m afraid Quora is just another good idea polluted by corporate influence.

Love the video responses!

Guitarplayer >4yrs

I have use Quora for about 2 years on and off. I stopped using it because both the questions and answers were starting to annoy me. However, they added a new video response section at the bottom and it’s great. You know the saying “it’s not what you say, but how you say it” (sorry to non-native English speakers) well that applies here. Seeing someone respond is so much more insightful and humanizing than words on a screen. It’s really beautiful actually

Awesome

Stars shark

I love Quora very much and am a top writer in a couple of topics. I enjoy spreading and sharing my knowledge with others as well as expanding my own personal knowledge as I interact with others. The only two things I request are options to delete your questions whenever you want, and for Quora to be less “glitchy,” because lately Quora has been acting up. Follow me on Quora: Zena Abdallah Thank you! Cheers! :)

Going downhill...

The idea of the app is awesome, educated people answering questions. But lately it seems more like Yahoo answers, a bunch of people giving their opinion about things they know nothing about. ???‍♀️

The internet at it's lowest point

mindjob

At first I thought people asking questions and looking for answers was a good idea. But I realized most of the questions asked are completely useless irrelevant bs, written by school kids looking for answers to their homework, or by voyeurs asking embarrassing questions for self satisfaction. I answered several questions and the one with the most up votes asked "what was your most embarrassing experience?" There is no shortage of people wanting to provide lurid details of their bad experiences, maybe in hopes of getting sympathy, but who wants to read them when life is bad enough already? So I had to quit Quora, just like I quit Facebook, and MySpace. Social media sickens the mind and turns us into creepy voyeurs.
