Confusing, but useful(?)

I’ve had this app over a week, and I still am thoroughly confused by it. I usually use PokeGenie but saw that this had a connection with PokeBattler. But I’m thinking of deleting it because the PokeBattler portion isn’t worth the problems I’m having. If the following items were fixed, I’d use it along with PokeGenie (PG), but otherwise I’ll delete it: -Why “scan history”?! Why can’t we just have a Pokémon listing that is easily searchable like PG instead of making five steps to see all of one Pokémon?! -what is the point of me scanning when I have to type all the data in?! Useless, it’s only good for the pic of the Pokémon and that’s it. -the weaknesses/strengths from attacking Pokémon is a great idea, but there’s no way to see what my pokes are strong AGAINST. use that tech to show me what my poke’s move set is weak/strong against and this app might be worth it -when I update a powered up poke, the scan ends up in my history and I get doubles which is so annoying I do NOT recommend this app! Save yourself some work and grief and get the PokeGenie app. It’s SO much better!
Scanning has been horrible

I have an iPhone XR, and the scanning is terrible. I have to manually enter the CP almost every time, and for the last few days, I’ve had to manually choose the level arc on almost every one too. I don’t know if it’s like this on all devices, but it’s been terrible lately.

I’ve tried all the IV checkers available. This one is the most extensive, and nice looking. Pretty easy to use.
Missing some important symbols for naming

I was excited, but in creating a custom keyboard, I found many symbols I use to be missing. Under the Unicode miscellaneous symbols category, I use the data rich three bars symbols to describe my best Pokémon ... rather than ⓯⓯⓮ I use ☴ ... solid bar means 15, broken bar means not 15. A couple others missing would include ☲ ☵ ☷ and so on. Given the inclusion of so many characters I doubt anyone would use, I don’t understand why these were dropped. Sure, it’s for me, but we all have our naming conventions, so I don’t understand the pick and choose decision by PokéRater.

This is (was) a great app!! Now that the analysis has changed, I hope it gets updated. I’ve been checking here for info but haven’t heard anything yet. Will the app be updated fir the latest game changes?
Can’t scan Groudon

Most features in this app work well, but it will never scan a Groudon properly. And the only way to give feedback on this in the app is via the iPhone mail app which I don’t have so I can’t send feedback any other way than this.
Family sharing crippled

I have a family of four. We play POGO together. I have apps like Poke Genie and family sharing is enabled. But Pokerater APPEARS to support family sharing but really it doesn’t look like it does. You can share the FREE APP with your family (???) but IN-APP purchases cannot be shared. So removing ads and other functionality is required to be purchased for each person. That’s disappointing. I was ready to sign up for the full in-app purchases until I saw that. I hope that I am mistaken, and the dev can explain or correct me. Then I will change my review. But right now I feel like I’m being fleeced. Especially since other similar apps don’t do this. P.S. I originally came here to SUPPORT the dev because of the dingbats who were writing to complain about the keyboard full access because they are scared sheep and fear what they don’t understand, yet proudly claim expertise and tell everyone to avoid the app because of necessary permissions and ALSO as long as you don’t use THIS KEYBOARD to do your online banking, then they can’t see it anyway. Meanwhile they probably use SwiftKey or something like without thinking twice about it. So I was coming to defend the dev and try to explain why they do need keyboard access to give the functionality expected. But the family sharing disappointed me.

It gives me everything I need to easily keep track, power up, all my Pokémon. The app is really a wealth of info Using this app I have managed to power up, to level 40, 54 Pokémon. I have a great army for any battle I join. Thanks PokéRater!
Was one of the best rating apps for Go

This was one, if not the best, Go rating apps with the additional functions it had and the best keyboard out there. That said, it hasn’t been updated for some time to take into account the new in-game rating system and has fallen way behind the competition. Hopefully an update soon will correct that.
