Albie Meter: 4 Stars (a deep pipe game with enough in it that you won’t exhale too soon; recommended for puzzlers and pipe fitters alike with a lighthearted storyline)
-----------------

Puzzle fans of all ages will enjoy hours of brain-teasing fun as they race against time in the infectious series of quests and puzzles filled with quirky characters, a humorous storyline and engaging gameplay. The original version of Pipe Mania was released in 1989 and followed by Pipe Dreams in 1991. It has been ranked as one of the most popular and successful puzzle games in history, selling more than 4 million units worldwide on other game consoles

The simplicity of Pipe Mania makes it accessible to all ages. The player must lay down a pre-ordained set of pipes on a tiled grid in order to keep the constantly flowing Flooze moving for as long as possible without it spilling out. The game requires quick thinking, hand-eye co-ordination, forward thinking and keen spatial awareness.

The iPhone version of Pipe Mania brings in a social element to the game play. Challenge your friends to a game using Scoreloop Core Social Integration to find out who the Pipe Mania champ is!

Features:

- 4 Modes: World, Arcade, Bonus and Classic.
- Navigate through 39 levels and 354 sub-levels that include Basic Pipes, Sewers, Railroad, Factory, Internet, Super Pipes, etc.
- Multiple attacks and damages

Lot of Replay value

My favorite game on DS. Was waiting for it to come on iPhone. Excellent port. Game play experience is awesome. Worth the 5 bucks I spent.

Would love to play, but hangs when selecting the world and won't get to the game at all. When they fix the game I'll write a better review. OS 3.1 (7C97d)

Not able to put it down!!

Got this the other day and since then playing it non stop. Every level offers something new and the twists are much better than in the PSP. Value for money if you are looking for something on your device permanently

Great game

This is a great puzzler with a lot of depth. If you have fond memories of Pipe Mania or Pipe Dreams, you'll love it. If not, it's still worth a try.

A Classic Puzzler, Well Worth the Price.

I've never heard of the game before, which is like admitting you've never heard of Tetris, but took the plunge on this based on the screenshots and early reviews and am glad I did. This and Star Hogs are all I've been playing since. I tried a few of the pipe clones on the Appstore, but none can touch this game in terms of polish and depth. The game is a bit of a battery drain and load times take awhile, but nothing that detracts from the "just one more try to clear this level" addictiveness of this classic. Pick it up if you're even a casual fan of puzzlers!

Never played a pipe game like this before

This is a really awesome game. New twists to the classic pipe game genre. All unique and enjoyable. Amazing replay value: plenty of levels, game modes, treasures, medals to play / win. Polished game with nice graphics, soundtrack and theme. More details: Controls can't be simpler: tap to place the pipe. Each grid section is pretty big so even my fat fingers have no problems being accurate. Graphics are 2D but are pretty nice with a Cartoon Network sort of feel to it. Background music is very arcade like, reminds me of Bobby Carrot or Monkey Island soundtrack. Befitting the 2D graphics. There are 4 game play modes. And each is really unique. Arcade is a survivial mode where the playing field (grid) shifts left, right, top, or bottom and your job is to build pipes in the correct direction and speed so that the flooze does not spill and also not go out of the screen. Bonus is a puzzle mode where you have to put a number of pipes in the correct positions on the grid (it already has many pipes placed, but some are missing) so that eveything connects properly, all before the timer runs out. Classic is the old school pipe mania game mode. My favorite is World which is a story game mode where you play Alfonso Junior or Fawcett and try to be the best plumber on Paradise Island. The story mode features incredible videos with pretty nice voice acting. The story mode is different from the classic mode because it features themes (pipes may not look like pipes), obstacles (which are also different depending on the theme), bonus pipes, pipes already on the playing grid, the current world's boss attacking your pipes (different bosses have different attacks), you having to repair damaged pipes from attacks. In the story, you have to fight through 6 worlds, each with it's own boss. First Ramona from the Sewers. Then Fat Kat and Manic Mouse from the Railroads, Penwald from the toy factory, Phyllis from the electricity plant, LOL 404 from the Internet and lastly Buffalo Bonzo from what looks like the old west. The levels have a scoring system and you get more points (double for each pipe length) if you finish early and use the pressure gauge to accelerate flooze flow. For each level you can get a bronze, silver or gold medal. The game also has a treasure room. Treasures are unlocked like achievements but sometimes you have to find them (by making flooze flow thru a pipe at a specific position on a grid at some levels). The treasures can be game mode unlocks, profile descriptions for the characters, videos.

Revenge of the "Flooze"
Devilishly Good

Pipe Mania is a puzzle game where your goal is to build a pipe pathway from a given starting point to a given endpoint. You are presented with random bits of pipe, and it's up to you to make a complete pathway and avoid having green Flooze ooze all over the place. One thing I really liked was the use of Profiles. If you have someone who likes to borrow your device, never fear, they can have their own profile so they don't mess up your achievements or scores...or complete levels for you that you haven't even attempted. There are four different game modes and each has its own levels and sublevels for a total of 356 individual levels of pipe puzzling fun. You will start in the campaign style World mode. It's here that you will earn Treasures and Trophies to unlock the other game modes which include Arcade, Bonus, and Classic. Gameplay is very simple. You're given a starting point and an end point. On the left you are shown the pipe pieces you have to work with and the order you will get them. To place a piece, simply click on a block on the play area to place it. If you can't immediately use the next piece, try to think ahead and place it where it can be integrated later. If you need to replace a piece of pipe with another, no problem. Just click on the old piece and it will be replaced with the new one; however, you will lose points for doing this. Don't spend too long in zen-like contemplation of your pipe path to be, because the Flooze will soon start to flow and you don't want it spilling all over the screen. So keep building to stay ahead of the green Flooze and complete your path. You'll earn extra points for both using extra pieces to make convoluted path and for using the "Fast Flooze" button at the lower left. Press and hold to keep the Flooze moving quickly and the points rolling in. As you progress, obstacles are presented to throw a wrench into things. Some may block you from building in certain squares. Others include special pipe pieces that will give you extra points if you incorporate them. Along the way, you can earn Trophies based on points and find 35 Treasures. These definitely add to the fun and depth of the game. Pipe Mania is a classic game that has been well implemented for the iPhone and iTouch. The controls for gameplay are intuitive and easy to work with and there is a lot of replayability. There are a few things that need some minor tweaking, especially the Menu layout, but they certainly nothing that detracts from actual gameplay. A definite recommended game for fans of this classic, or for anyone looking for a good, solid, fun, and challenging puzzler.

Awesome

One of the best ports i have played with. For $5 i am able to take it anywhere i want. Levels are similar to the Mac version. Will this be having a Multi-player support as an update like in the Mac?

Pipe Mania for so less?

Great job. When console versions of Pipe Mania are selling for more than double, same experience for $5 is worth it.

Excellent Pipe Dream game!

Loads of content and unlockables! Menu is a little bland compared to the rest of the game, however.
