Never played a pipe game like this before – Pipe Mania Review

This is a really awesome game. New twists to the classic pipe game genre. All unique and enjoyable. Amazing replay value: plenty of levels, game modes, treasures, medals to play / win. Polished game with nice graphics, soundtrack and theme. More details: Controls can't be simpler: tap to place the pipe. Each grid section is pretty big so even my fat fingers have no problems being accurate. Graphics are 2D but are pretty nice with a Cartoon Network sort of feel to it. Background music is very arcade like, reminds me of Bobby Carrot or Monkey Island soundtrack. Befitting the 2D graphics. There are 4 game play modes. And each is really unique. Arcade is a survivial mode where the playing field (grid) shifts left, right, top, or bottom and your job is to build pipes in the correct direction and speed so that the flooze does not spill and also not go out of the screen. Bonus is a puzzle mode where you have to put a number of pipes in the correct positions on the grid (it already has many pipes placed, but some are missing) so that eveything connects properly, all before the timer runs out. Classic is the old school pipe mania game mode. My favorite is World which is a story game mode where you play Alfonso Junior or Fawcett and try to be the best plumber on Paradise Island. The story mode features incredible videos with pretty nice voice acting. The story mode is different from the classic mode because it features themes (pipes may not look like pipes), obstacles (which are also different depending on the theme), bonus pipes, pipes already on the playing grid, the current world's boss attacking your pipes (different bosses have different attacks), you having to repair damaged pipes from attacks. In the story, you have to fight through 6 worlds, each with it's own boss. First Ramona from the Sewers. Then Fat Kat and Manic Mouse from the Railroads, Penwald from the toy factory, Phyllis from the electricity plant, LOL 404 from the Internet and lastly Buffalo Bonzo from what looks like the old west. The levels have a scoring system and you get more points (double for each pipe length) if you finish early and use the pressure gauge to accelerate flooze flow. For each level you can get a bronze, silver or gold medal. The game also has a treasure room. Treasures are unlocked like achievements but sometimes you have to find them (by making flooze flow thru a pipe at a specific position on a grid at some levels). The treasures can be game mode unlocks, profile descriptions for the characters, videos.
