Bidding is not reliable

flawedpartner

I play this enough to know that my computer partner is flawed. They will pass with a run in their hand. You would think they would at least bid a few times around. Definitely frustrating.

Pinochle free

I deleted this app today. How can you have a partner outbid you almost every time and when you send them all or most of the suite they bid, they will still only have 20-40 points in their hand and the set is bombed. Not fair play

Terrible game

Annoying25

Person playing hardly ever gets a good hand. I Fix this game. Give the person playing a chance to get a good hand!

Not very good

KR7949

I like the variety of game options, but thats where the good points end... clearly the developer has never played before. been playing 30+ years and never seen a variation where PLAYER TO THE LEFT of dealer has to open with minimum bid. If everyone else passes then DEALER must bid. Its up to the dealer’s partner to “save” the dealer with a bid. Meld bidding is completely wrong. First there is no such thing as a 10 meld bid, except an “aces” opening 51 bid. That is assumed in the bidding that the partner has 10 meld. The meld bids that are given are +1 from the standard. For example the partner goes up 3 for 20 meld, up 4 for 30 meld, etc. (should be up 2 for 20, up 3 for 30...) Game does not take leadbacks into consideration. Bidder will void himself of his only A of trump off the bat. HORRIBLE BID AND PLAY STRATEGY. Also a common rule is “bidder goes” if both teams are over 450 to start the hand the bidding team wins if both end up over 500. Otherwise highest score wins.

Game is set up to embarrass players

BeFletch

I have enjoyed pinochle since I was a young. I thought this game would take me back to family gatherings and the fun we had playing but I have to say this game cheats. The probability of double aces, triple of quadruple pinochle the game gives the opposing team is impossible. The four card exchange often ends up leading to double runs at an alarming rate. So it is almost impossible to have a fair competitive game. The end score is often 500 to 150 and no one was set. The unfortunate thing is this is the best pinochle game in the App Store. Play if you wish, just get use to losing 8 out of every 10 games.

Best version out there, but....

I have played this game since it started but it needs some fine tuning and is getting frustrating! For example, why can the opponent play a 10 of trump to take a trick but not your partner.

Bad

joezeppi65

This is the worst if you like to play agents every one this is for you its like my partner gives the lead to the other team every time i cant stand it anymore !!!

Robot bidder ?

bookebinder

This bidding is not insane. I honestly can’t tell any difference between the settings of the robot bidder. The partner play is ok once you get past how annoying the bidding is. The help/hint function is just ok. I like the many options to customize the rules to suit you. Overall this app is good because it’s free, but it has a lot of room for improvement.

I should have read reviews

kadyrdahl

So many reviews talk about how east/west gets great cards and/or will constantly bid you out of play. Not much fun when you’re always the spectator. Time to find a new game app. Very disappointing!

One sided dealing

thedoef

Computer likes to deal itself and/or its partner really good meld and playing hands so you’ll be playing catch up a lot. 1 out of 6 deals you’ll get something worth playing. It’s the only general play free pinochle game in the store so you’re stuck with this app if that’s what you want rather than online playing. If you can deal with the Apps ego and work around then go ahead but the cards your dealt and the consistency of garbage hand will eventually bother you
