iPhone app is okay, but Apple Watch version is unusable

Vic239

I just purchased my Zik headphones 4 weeks ago and love them so far. The iPhone app is decent, though it does have its glitches from time to time. The Apple Watch version is completely useless though. It keeps saying that I need to have the iPhone app open in order to use it. This seems to defeat the point of the Apple Watch version entirely. I’d rather change settings on the Watch app rather than have to get my iPhone out of my pocket every time I’d like to tweak my headphone settings.

iPhone X - App doesn’t work with OS 11+

PaddyG2

Works gone with lower level OS but app will not connect to the the latest OS 11 versions. Headphones connect and work fine but app is broken. No way to know status of battery.

...really, doesn't run on iphone 4

Honestly, I didn't think the app was that great in the get place. I love the headphones, just wish you could adjust settings on it without the app (the simple stuff) seeing how it already has a touch interface. The app is rough around the edges, the per-song equalizer is tough to set-up and I don't know why you'd even want it. The headphones aren't perfect, but so far they work and the noise cancelation is pretty good (the noise canceling starts making funny noises when it's low on battery and it's really annoying). But, since this new update, my iphone 4 is unable to run the app (crashes before reaching the home screen), but this sit really a shot at Parrot, mostly apples terrible support for their older products. Anyways, I find these headphones aren't perfect, but totally geeky, and if your willing to deal with hitches you'll love em. If you want bluetooth headphones that connect when you turn them and just work, look elsewhere (Bose quiet comfort, A range of Sony headphones, or even Audio Technica for those more sound quality oriented).

I keep hoping for more

The app is OK, but not what I expected as part of an expensive headphone package. Some aspects are fairly intuitive, but others need some real improvement. I don't know if it would have been any good, but I was at least intrigued by the idea of all the custom settings created by professionals. The short list is just that - short. Also, Parrot -finally- added a battery widget. Only, it's a separate widget and not the sort that works with the Apple battery widget where all my other Bluetooth batteries show up. Why?? Why can't the battery level of my headphones show up with all the other batteries instead of cluttering my widget space for just the one line? Even my car stereo shows up in the Apple battery widget, which is wholly unnecessary. I suppose I just expected better and more frequent improvements as it's a fairly costly device that actually allows for improvements through app and firmware updates. *Also, as a new bug, the app is dropping connection to my headphones. They're still playing audio, but when I launch the app it shows that no device is connected, so cannot access controls or battery info. The battery widget, too, does not show data. iPhone 6s iOS 10.1.1 as of 2 Dec 2016.

Not compatible

Is this app not compatible with Parrot Zik 1?? I mean come on now.. There are plenty people who still have and enjoy the 1st version

Best App to Manage Zik3

pavanpro

Managing Zik3 was now made much easier with this App. Pretty much handy.

Love it

I use the headphones for work to make phone calls

Main app is great. Watch app almost pointless

Aronnyc

I’ll start with the Watch app first. While the Watch app itself is great, mostly reflecting the phone version, it’s pointless if nearly every time I use it, the app asks me to launch the app on the phone. It is launched on the phone (as in, it’s not inactive), but the Watch app seems to want me to have the phone app version at the same time. What’s the point, then? If I could use the phone app, I would. The only reason I would want to use the Watch app is because the phone is not nearby or I don’t want to interrupt a video. I love the main app. It really makes the Parrot Zik headphones stand above from all the other headphones out there with its different controls and noise cancellation options. It’s mostly easy to use, although it’d be nice if there was some kind of built in tutorial that walks the user through the basics.

Doesn’t work reliably.

Shinook66

When your connected and using the Zik 3 via Bluetooth, at the app still doesn’t see that they’re connected, the app is useless.

Fix iOS 11 bug

Parrot Zik 2.0 doesn’t connect to the app. It’s a global issue.
