Disappointing

Goddess of spring

This is not the OED I know and love. It seems far too simplistic to be a good basic dictionary, let alone a thinking person’s ideal reference. I am dismayed to have spent real money on virtual pablum.

Ok Dictionary

the beggar on the fence

This Ok for the price.

Good app for learning English

Good British pronunciation dictionary for English learner. The interface is also user friendly!

Essential app

OTD Deramin

I probably use this once a day at least. I've long loved how comprehensive the OED is. The etymologies are unparalleled and so informative. This app is mostly very easy to use and navigate. Would be nice if I could easily toggle between definitions and thesaurus since that seems like a wasted opportunity for a combined app, but that's a small complaint for all the use I get out of it. I have a few dictionary apps, but this is the one I always reach for first (usually last).

Shakespeare Pro

App is fine but does not transfer from my iPad to my iPhone. At $9.99 this is a ripoff. To add insult to injury, my free app on iPhone periodically sends push requests to upgrade to the Pro version, which I've already purchased once..
