I’ve been using OverDrive for about 10 years and have enjoyed the ease of downloading and reading books from my local library on my iPad. About 4 months ago I was unable to download a book. I was told by the county library staff that my iPad was too old and OverDrive was no longer supported. I had to purchase a new iPad and use Libby. I bought a new iPad and downloaded Libby. I much preferred OverDrive and so I downloaded OverDrive on my new iPad. I’m hoping that OverDrive will continue to be supported by my local library.

Our local public library card supports my using the Overlook app, to easily checkout and read book. My favorites are the audio books, which allow me to be busy with my hands while listening.

This is not a matter of difficulty in switching to a new app. I know about that and I suffer from it frequently. This is the fact that overdrive is completely intuitive, allows for easy and broad searches, and is just simply easy to work with. I am incredibly sad this will not be supported anymore. I listen to audiobooks on OverDrive for hours every single day. I don’t know what I will do when it is no longer functional. Libby is terrible. I’ve been trying to work with it since it was in beta and it hasn’t gotten any better. It’s impossible to navigate and completely counterintuitive. Please, please, please! Don’t abandon overdrive!

Have loved this app so far! So easy to connect with your local library and download books for your kindle or audiobooks to listen through the app. And it’s free, whereas Audible has a monthly payment and only one credit per month without purchasing more. Overall great experience with OverDrive!

I’m an adult. I work full time, and attend college full time too. I was pretty much convinced I would never have to time to read recreationally again for a long time. But this app has made it possible for me to listen to all the build I’ve ever wanted to read for free. I spend all day working/doing homework, with an earbud in and listening to new books. It’s really made my days easier!

I use Overdrive almost everyday. I’ve used the help files to get things just the way I want it with all three of my library accounts showing up. I do have an unresolved glitch with my checked out audio or ebooks not be accessible across devices. My personal workaround is to only download audiobooks to my iPhone and ebooks to iPad. The glitch has to do with how I set up my adobe password access many years ago. Maybe I will try to fix that…

It has been very tough to find an unabridged version of books like the Lord of the Rings, but I found one and I can just follow along in my book with no issue.

I like that I can download books and audiobooks. This means if I loose power or do not have Wi-Fi or data I can still read or listen to my book. Libby is fine but without Wi-Fi or data you can’t read or listen to your book.

I absolutely love the overdrive app. I love listening to audio books and the selection from the library gets better and better.

Please consider adding a way to stream audiobooks from the OverDrive app to Alexa (not just Bluetooth) so kids can listen at night without phones near their bedrooms!!! Thank you!
