Very Hard

I must say, the game is very addicting which is why I give it 3 stars, however, it’s extremely hard. I really like the game concept but I’m still stuck on “Very Easy” mode and I cannot beat it. I can’t even imagine what “Easy” mode is when I can’t beat the first mode. While I am criticizing the hardness of the game I must say it is very addictive!

Design is mostly good, plenty of opponents to play online. I'm a good player and would prefer to play against good players. Please implement Elo ratings like Dr. Reversi and other apps have. Also it’s started crashing (maybe ios13?) right after the first game starts, causing me to lose. Tried closing it and opening it, still happens. Ah well the trademark holder drove iReversi out of business so I guess I’m stuck.

I majority of the games I’ve lost is due to the app crashing. And what’s with the game bots losing on purpose? Do you think if I think I am playing better, I’m going to spend money to eliminate ads? ??. And add chat. Have to fun with this game is trash talking. Still getting drops even after a year. Developer is a lazy moron What’s with being directed to the App Store in the middle of a game? Every time that happens I lose connection. STOP TRYING TO FORCE PEOPLE TO PAY TO GET RID OF ADS!

Great app until it crashes

I love the freedom this app provides to play Othello/Reversi with people of many skill levels from around the world. When it works well, this app has been a true favorite. For those who want a more restrictive format that matches you with players according to your skill level, there are several alternatives for that, and I have enjoyed them as well, but this remains one of my favorites for a quick game where the challenge level remains a mystery until the game is underway. That said, the increasing frequency of sudden crashes has become alarmingly high, running at about one quarter of matches. Rebooting my device has had no impact. The app will suddenly go to a black screen that briefly holds for a second or so before reverting to the iOS background. The app sometimes remains visible as though running in the background, but resuming the app then appears to restart it. On other occasions, the app seems to freeze, usually just as a match is started with the table showing, but before the initial tiles are placed and the players are identified. The tile counts both reflect -1 at this point, with basically a blank green table otherwise, a situation I do not recall encountering prior to the latest update a few months ago. This could have occurred before that, but since the freezes are more recent, I may simply not have noticed. The freezes affect the game board buttons (Menu and New game), retaining the “click” sound for each button press, but without response otherwise. The remedy is to close and restart the app, or wait briefly for the app to collapse, usually in under a minute. As Wilmamae reported on July 13, I have also experienced situations where the app improperly makes a move not taken, or otherwise incorrectly reflects the true state of the game by showing tiles reversed that could not have been by the moves made, or prevents valid moves based on the state of tiles presented as though the rules were being enforced improperly, or on a board setup other than the one displayed. These situations have been rare, perhaps affecting 2% or less of games played. The high crash rate is of much greater concern. I have considered removing and re-installing the app to see if that might help, but unfortunately, I changed the default random password to something I no longer remember, and do not want to lose my account history. Even though it no longer reflects my true match statistics because most crashes count as losses, the history still has my players list and other preferred settings. So I am stuck between loving this app, and hating its imperfections. Were it not for that, I could heartily recommend this app with a 5-star recommendation.

Freezes and Crashes

This app crashes far too much or it’ll freeze requiring you to restart the app. Either way if you’re in the middle of a game it counts against you. Of the 22 games I’ve played so far. 6 of them glitched and now count against me. The timer is the worst because it forces you play the quick or no timer, no middle ground at all. Great players are the only thing that’s makes this app worth playing. Going to try Othello Quest for a while

I love this game and I play a lot everyday. Thank you for working hard to make this possible. That been said point system is not working properly I think. I feel some people have figure out the way to stay in top without playing the game. Please get rid of people getting points from games that are less than 5secs. Even 30secs. Most people who actually “Play” this game would probably like that. Everyone need to play the game to earn points. I know Othello is not about getting the points but one of the aspect of why I like this game is the point system. If there are some other point systems you can put into the game so better player who can’t play as often can stay in the top some people might like that also.

I would’ve rated this higher except it doesn’t warn u that there’s a time limit on your turn and before u know it it can cause u to lose the game automatically. There also isn’t a time warning flashing so u know how much time u have or have left to make ur turn. Also, I may not have found it yet but there isn’t a way to ask the person u just played for a rematch and that’s a real bummer.
