Hubs will not connect

We’ve loved these for the past two years which is why I’m giving it two stars. When they work, it’s worth every bit of 5. My orchestra of lights has made me very happy for the past two holiday seasons. I am very disappointed that the hubs will not connect this year. For as much as they cost, they should work for years!

Lights are nice and this review is for the app only, with the exception of the first paragraph about the Wi-Fi hub. The hub is totally unnecessary for what features it offers, it’s just a way to soak an extra $20 into the system and be able to link the one additional product type, the wreath. All of the other options are additional projectors. That being said the app could simply connect directly to the light to set your show and use whatever other controller you want to turn them on and off. The app simply allows you to change colors, music, and an on/off timer. You can’t play 1 song every hour or space them out. You can’t schedule it to stop audio after a certain time. You can even run different pre set shows throughout the night. App is junk, update it.

I got the speaker box from Lowes (thought it was also a projector for some reason), for $90. I have connected it to the $20 hub and 2 sets of icicle lights. The app doesn’t control the speaker box at all. I can play internal songs and Bluetooth and the lights seem to be very random and not what I have seen in YouTube reviews. I may have a old version so I’m returning the speaker. It’s really bad audio quality anyway. Without the speaker box I still have issues with the light shows. My phone is on the same network as the hub but sometimes the effects start after a few seconds, but other times it takes a minute to change. Other times I can’t tell if anything is happening. Would be a good idea to show a short video or animation in the app for each selection. Then you would know if it’s working. Also a random feature would be nice. Who wants to sit and change the light show all night? Then I turned off the hub and the lights seem to work just fine by themselves. Of course, no music or ability to change what they are doing. But I can return over $100 of stuff that doesn’t work and just caused me a headache and driving back and forth. And this is why I don’t like Christmas! The icicle lights are great by the way. Just get those and be done with it all.

Unable to control lights app crashes every time I open it. Have tried reinstalling app. Please fix so my Christmas lights will work.
Not able to complete set up

There was an update to the app and now it won’t connect to the WiFi. It sits and thinks forever in set up. Now the system is completely not usable. It just blinks red then blue over and over.

The hub keeps losing connection. Have to keep resetting it and repairing all the lights, sometimes every day. The Edison bulbs don’t pair at all, even though it picks it up on scanning. The update history shows an update was put out last month to make it easier, I think it made it worse. I had them working fine for Halloween. Now they do their own thing and strobe different colors.

I agree the hub seems pointless since the signal coming from it and the lights feels weaker than a Wi-Fi connection would. The app has started to loose features like the customization of the lights and colors, plus the Christmas preset holiday is now missing. I know it was there before because I showed my neighbor. Also, the orange for Halloween isn’t orange. Simply put, we want what we were promised. Lots of light combinations that we can choose. Fix these issues please.
