Totally understand banner ads and their load time on a free app. Happens on this app and I can deal with it. What’s difficult to appreciate are additional random full screen popovers that don’t close covering all train info and costing shot nerves or the difference in catching that train.

The adds that you can’t skip or ignore make this app difficult to use. there’s always a lag, so what’s a 5 second ad becomes 15- all crucial time when you’re looking for a train.

While the idea behind the app is a good one, the track predictions are wrong more than 50% of the time.

2nd New Feature - MobileWare insists you provide your real-time location, or else they are going to cover a third of your screen, including relevant information, with a bright red drop-down banner that you can’t close (until you let them and third-party advertisers track you). I’d gladly pay for a one-time purchase fee or low annual subscription, but I don’t trust developers that want to track you and employ these methods. This is otherwise a very good app, and some of their other apps I’d also consider. I’d be especially skeptical when those apps are of a financial nature. So, instead of subscribing, I’ll probably be deleting this app sooner rather than later. Too bad. MobleWare was an excellent example of a well designed app in versions past.

This app has become unusable due to all the aggressive ads. Deleting this app and switching over to the one by MTA.

The amount of ads this app has is crazy. It’s totally understandable to have ads on a free app but this is excessive. It’s constantly playing full screen ads with sound, and not just once when you open it.

Especially useful when at Penn Station (construction madness). A cool feature to have would be alerts for preferred train times or lines.
