Easy to use but really lacks in sheet metal design. Never had the problems I had with SolidWorks but I also could do a lot more with SolidWorks. If they can get sheet metal up to par with SolidWorks I would switch back in a second.

I'm a professional user of CAD, and this tool is nearly 100% full featured, and with regular functional updates on the server that are transparent to the user, very soon this will be equivalent to a full featured professional CAD system costing $5k or more. Truly amazing!

Finally! This app is what you are looking for if you are looking for a 3d CAD program on your mobile device! Not only can you easily design parts but you can also import the parts into an assembly and mate them to each other. This is the strongest 3-D CAD app I've seen on the mobile market! Thank you Onshape for actually putting the time into this to make it a great app!

I was a bit skeptical on how well 3D modeling would be on a mobile platform (iPhone 5S). As a daily SolidWorks user the functions of sketching, dimensioning, extruding were very familiar. The touch interface has a bit of a learning curve but after going thru one of the tutorials, I can see getting fairly proficient in short order. Looking forward to spending more time with this app!

Excellent attempt!! Was waiting for something like this. You guys have targeted the right primary user with the primary required functions that are a pain and unstable in open source apps. This is going to grow by leaps and bounds. Good bye solid works.

I have been using this for a couple of personal projects, and it's great! The GUI takes hardly a moment to learn. It is MUCH simpler to use than any other cad program out there. I know those programs have a little more features, but you hardly ever need them when you need a project detailed out quickly. This app is great for pretty much any project you have in mind, because the more work you put into your design the more you detail you will have. So if you want something done fast, it's very possible. And if you want something that requires a lot of detail, it works just fine. In terms of lag, I am using an iPad 2 and I only experience minor pauses when opening up projects or turning off and on a part of a project. When I rotate and "look" at an object, there is literally zero lag - and that is really extraordinary. What ever you have in mind you have to try this app, it will change your outlook on CAD like never before. Plus you get 100 MB of storage for free with a free account. If I could recommend anything to the developers, it would be awesome to have an offline version that would work without Internet. So you could work on the go with devices that don't have 3G networks. Just an idea. To sum it up, this app is awesome! Especially if your looking for a simple cad program to use on your phone or tablet (or computer) and don't want to spend hours figuring out how to just make a 3D object. With this program, you will be turning out cad drawings left and right. Thank you for this technology OnShape! -Kurt

As you know, there are tools and there are Tools. A month ago I wouldn't believe it's even possible to create a complete, engineering-grade 3D modeler for iPhone, but here it is -- robust, cloud-enabled, real. When I discovered what this app does, it was one of those amazing moments when you realize that the world isn't the one it was a minute ago. The fact this app exists, and especially that it's free for non-commercial use, really can change lifes to the better. My deepest respect to programmers and concept makers.

Thank you Guys! 10+ yrs SolidWorks users, and couldn't be more excited about an App! 1. Really clean UI (using iPad Pro) 2. Branch / sharing / collaboration - drool! Wanted this for years. 3. Please do a special version for iPad Pro + Apple Pencil. Currently sketch mode still seems to be designed for mouse / but should rethink this for touch / force touch / and pencil 4. Multi OS/ browser based - amazingly smooth 5. If we could import/ convert parametric from SW like RapidWorks so it would be easy to import SLDPRTs- that would cool 6. Will want FEA tools eventually/ and ability to render with tools like Modo. Sheet metal tools 7. Tools for export to STL from iPad so we can 3D print or bring into 3D printing software.
