Very annoying to add numbers to block

The application automatically begins reinstalling all blocked numbers when you add a new one. It gets really, really bad when you have millions of blocked numbers. This is stupid, you should be able to add as many new numbers as you want at one time and trigger a rebuild only when you’re done.

The robo calls and sales calls have dwindled to a call every 6-7 weeks. This thing is almost miraculous in how it keeps my phone quiet now days. Love it. Easy to use and effective.

I have never reviewed an app before, but Number Shield has been a life saver for me. I was getting non-stop solicitation calls from numbers from the same prefix (same as my phone number). It was getting insanely frustrating. This app has completely blocked those calls. Thank you!

A simple app to effectively block area codes with no ads, changes to my carrier settings, no subscriptions or features I don’t need! It JUST WORKS! I’m so glad I found the developer’s reddit post. It’s a shame this amazing app is being buried by all these scam apps that sell your data to scammers instead of simply protecting you from spam calls. Please promote this app, in any way you can!

Getting WAY fewer spoofed-number spam calls now

Great app. Most of the spam calls I get are from spoofed numbers that change constantly, making “regular” number blocking mostly ineffective. An app I had previously let me block calls with the same area code and 1st 3 digits as my number. That did help, but versatile Number Shield does that AND lets you take your spoofed-number blocking much further. You can block basically as many number combinations as you want, instead of just one. And you’re not restricted just to area code plus first three digits. In my case, I receive a lot of spam calls from around a certain large US city, apparently directed at the previous holder of my number. Using Number Shield I’ve blocked some *entire area codes* located near that city, resulting in even a lot more spoofed-number spam getting blocked. You can set it so your contacts are never blocked. And should a legitimate call come from one of your blocked number patterns, they’ll still be able to leave a voicemail (so do a small portion of the spammers, but at least you’re not bothered by a ringing phone). Unfortunately it can’t block caller-ID-hidden calls, but no iPhone app can, since Apple doesn’t allow that capability. But, at least thus far, I don’t get many of these. This app has really cut way down on my phone ringing with blasted spam calls, and is a great value. Also, tech support responded quickly when I had a question.

Amending my earlier review below. Now I get what the purpose of the app is and it accomplishes that. Thanks for your response. Doesn’t really “block” numbers it just doesn’t let them ring. I still get voicemails from the spam numbers. If I’m doing something wrong I’d be happy to amend my rating.

Simple... Allows blocking of any combinations, allows voicemails to still come thru in case it's a real call. Well done developer! Highly recommend
