I listen to Up First every morning... first thing. The 15:00 program covers breaking news as well as special longer segments on national topics. The app is easy to use and the content has excellent reporting. Highly recommend!

Recently since I updated my iPhone to the latest version of iOS, when I open the NPR app I get the message “NPR pasted from XXXX” where XXXX is the last app I cut and pasted data from. I did some research and this is a message from iSO warning that an App just accessed the clipboard. Why is the NPR app pulling data without asking from the iPhone clipboard right on opening ? I’m deleting it today as I consider this an unsafe app potentially accessing private data and rating 1 star since NPR would release it like this.

I loved using this well-designed app until I upgraded to iOS 14 and discovered that the app was spying on my clipboard the whole time. As of Oct 2020, with iOS 14 copy some text using any app then open the NPR app. Upon opening a security banner will inform you that the NPR app “pasted from <whatever app you copied from>” After reading their Privacy Policy, I couldn’t find any clause where they stated they would use your clipboard. Completely unacceptable. Uninstalling.

I have been waiting for well over a year for NPR to add back the share functionality to this app. I don’t know whose brother-in-law‘s nephew got hired to redesign this app but it was an absolute travesty what was done to the previous application. I have withheld donating to NPR until someone fixes this app and I will continue to do so until somebody gets their head screwed on straight. We are in the age of social media and sharing. How on gods green earth did you lose the sharing functionality and why on gods green earth has it not been added back yet? Someone needs to be fired.

I wish NPR would incorporate the best features of its main app with those of NPR One instead of having two flawed apps. In the NPR app, if I want to add a Freakonomics episode to the queue, I have to use the search bar to find the podcast, then find the episode (and only the most recent episodes are listed). Since the app is capable of playing podcasts that aren’t listed in the On Demand page, why not add a feature that lets you save favorited podcasts to the On Demand page so you don’t have to search for it every time?

I use this all the time to listen to that 5 min news summary and morning edition, in addition to other *very* quality podcasts.

I think it is past time to put all things Considered out as a regular podcast, this app is too buggy, it has frustrated me for years.

I love NPR, because I can expand my mind without having to go anywhere. I also love that this app is accessible to the blind.

This app is in my Top-3 - I use it all the time. I’ve used it for a several years. I think the design could be a little better (add Search to “More NPR Shows”) but overall, it works well. Only (annoying) glitch is that it keeps losing my “Favorite” station.
