Tried to find an attorney in Nevada but kept getting "enter zip code or state" error message despite having entered such information.

Nice free law dict

I was looking for a decent, easy to use plus inexpensive law or legal terms dictionary app for Iphone. This is it. Best feature is that it arranges terms by category. Since it is free and comes from Nolo, a reputable publisher - - you really can't beat it. Can you say Black's or Barron's are free? No, not yet!

Great for the legal novice; And still worthwhile for law students and those in the profession.

Nolo's "Plain English Law Dictionary" is exactly that: plain english. For students in undergrad taking courses in criminal justice, some sort of pre-law program, or who are just curious, this app provides simple definitions to any common terms or latin phrases you might need. The dictionary may also be extremely useful to people in business who can't always consult a lawyer for every contract they sign. If you are a law student, however, this dictionary leaves something to be desired. The organization isn't what you would be used to, and it should not be relied on in a pinch because of some of the more esoteric terms that are conspicuously absent. While Nolo's is not Black's, it has one distinct advantage: it's free. If you're not willing to shell out the big bucks for a comprehensive law dictionary like Black's, this app does a great job, considering who its target audience is.

Its really good but the letters when i type in the dictionary are too small.soooooooooooo small.........please add a function that i can control the size of fonts. Then it would be perfect.

I Can't Believe This is Free

I spent $100 on my Black's dictionary. Now with this FREE app, I don't open my paper dictionary anymore -- I've yet to come across a word or phrase I need that is not in this portable, searchable dictionary. I would easily pay $10 or $20 for this, especially considering its competitor is charging $50.

Great, but.....

Great app, I just suggest that you add copy & paste functionality. I often take the terms and put them into a flashcard app to study from. Cut and paste would be helpful. Keep up the good work. I first bought SearchLegal but it was so slow that I never use it. After finding Nolo I realized that I had wasted my money ever buying a law dictionary. I almost spent the big money for Black's Law app but this is free and I haven't found a word missing yet.

"Just One Question..."

Well,so far I really like what I've read about this app.... but can anyone tell me why it's free?

Nifty

Nifty little app. Good for reading those contracts or other fine print stuff. Sadly, no matter how much I read it, I still can't fully understand it since I'm not a lawyer.

a great law reference book for layman
