This is a pretty handy little tool. The funny thing is my girlfriend and I were having an argument about what is and what isn't blackmail. So we had an "iPhone moment", I pulled out the ol' iPhone and this dictionary settled our little friendly disagreement (she was right, bummer).

Can't believe it's free. I bought Black's Law dictionary and this is comparably pretty good! This is very helpful even if your not studying law. I would recommend everyone download a copy now while it's free! : )

I also have blacks and like another reviewer commented, this is pretty similar in function. It has tons of definitions laid out on every day language. Simply a must have application if you're interested in knowing more about law or are a poor law student. Thank you, NOLO!
Quick, Easy, Slick

I'm a 30+ year attorney and needed a quick and easy law dictionary app. Here it is. You can't beat Nolo for their helpful legal info aimed at consumers and this app is a great example. I use Black's Law Dictionary in my office and have been wanting a law dictionary for my iphone since I bought my first iphone. Now, with the 3gs model, Nolo timed it perfectly. Just about every legal phrase you commonly need is defined here. And if you get tired of the Law & Order opening notes, you can shut them off and get straight to work. A great app, highly useful, especially for attorneys, and you just can't beat the (free) cost. Nolo scores again.

This is a very handy app that I've found surprisingly useful for looking quickly looking up legal terms. Of course, it is no substitute for in depth documentation you might find in a legal library, but it is does give me just that little bit of data I'm looking for. The lawyer directory is a nice touch too. Oh, and the classic view is my preferred style. Great job!

This should be at least $5 because there are lots of vocabolaries that I could practise. I have both black's law and essential law app, but this nolo is great as well. But the most I need is the ability to bookmark. Please update this function and Im sure many users will love your app...

It doesn't have everything but it sure as he'll beats carrying my huge Black's to class or buying a pocket one for too much money. I definitely recommend this app.
