Readers can quickly navigate the entire publication using iOS multi-gestures. Swipe to browse pages or sections or tap a live headline or page number to reach your favorite article. A thumbnail view lets you scan all the pages at once. To read a story, just tap to zoom the page image, or tap to article mode and read the whole story, including jumps, in the text window at the font size you prefer. The eEdition will also let you easily find topics using the section and story index, or find any ad or story via a full text search of words contained in the copy. The eEdition is published on the same schedule as the print edition. Just open the app to get the latest edition for on-line or off-line reading. You can also access back issues that you might have missed. To use, just download the app and select your publication. Access typically requires an account login and password that is provided to subscribers. Check with your publication for details. The app provides free access to a demo edition so you can try out the eEdition before subscribing. If you subscribe to several participating papers, the app will let you switch among them.

I use this app to read my local newspaper's e-version. It generally works OK, but has a very annoying tendency to crash. The previous version would always re-load at the front page of the front section. Now, at least, it returns to the page I was reading when it crashed. The stability of the app is borderline acceptable.

Needs help

After downloading the app to iPhone, found navigation to be anything but intuitive. Difficult to move around a page, and when tapping on a story, something other than the "real" page is displayed. Also, tapping on the jump gets the reader nowhere. The app is marginally better on the iPad, but for an unexplained reason, the available edition history shows a missed date! Time for Tecnavia to take a closer look at Press Reader (my local newspaper changed delivery services) and try to emulate some of what it does.

Functional but difficult to use

Cons: This app seems written for plain text readers. It is not aimed at clear PDF access to a full newspaper. The layout for the Pages button, is too small and not easily scrollable. The full screen layout of a newspaper is slow and fuzzy. Expansion to larger fonts in ipad1 is slow and sometimes does not work. The app crashes when simply changing PDF pages. C'mon Developers - PDF is old technology and it can be done faster and cleaner. Selection of newspapers is challenging and necessary to get started. Direct links to a community paper would simplify this. Pros: It does work, with effort. It does have the full newspaper, but paging back and forth through the paper to read articles can cause crashes and is sloooww. So two stars...

Update please

Can't even get my paper to open.

Worst App
God bless my online friends

We read the Record Eagle with this app and it is sluggish, blurry and the other day the text was jumping all around. Could not read it at all. The paper used Press Reader before the switched to Memory news. It was really good and you felt like you had the actual paper in your hands. With Memory News we are seriously considering our newspaper subscription . We have held on for over a week thinking they would improve this app but we are coming to a close. Spending $9.95 each month is not worth it.

Why, Oh Why?

Meadville Tribune, why did you do this to us? NewsPaper Direct and PressReader Apps are way better than this one. We have gone backwards this time! Way back... NewsMemory Is impossible to read for all of the reasons cited by other reviewers. I will not repeat the negatives and there are no positives to review. We will be canceling our subscription if something isn't done soon. NewsMemory is not even close to being acceptable. It is like an app that was developed 20 years ago. Also, I didn't care for the condescending attitude of the person I spoke with at the Meadville Tribune. Maybe they were frustrated by the number of complaints they were getting. Who knows. I was treated as if I didn't know a thing about technology which is very far from the truth. Please re-partner with PressReader! Much better app with many more updated and even advanced options. It did have a learning curve but was well worth the time and effort in the end.

Worst ever

I don't know why my newspaper switched from Pressreader to this crappy app. The stories are very slow to load, sometimes the words in the story just disappear or are jumbled. Wish my paper would switch back to Pressreader.

NEEDS FIXED

Doesn't Work

I have had it with Cumberland Times News and their new vendor for electronic subscription service. Will not renew my subscription when it expires. This is not worth the pain.

Worthless
