Incompatible?

I have this app on iPhone and iPad. It runs on both. Interesting news. Recent "big" update won't download. Says it is not compatible with my device on my iPad. The app runs like normal. The update doesn't know that. I'm bugged by the AppStore to please update. So I use the app in its old form until they figure out that some features are compatible with iPad. July 2, 2016

Newsbeat is a great semi-randomized source of audio news and info that provides me excellent company when I work on projects around the house. It has made today's basement cleaning drudgery a tolerable stretch of time.

I've had this app on my iPhone 4s for the last year, and now with the latest update it tells me that it's not compatible with my phone. Thanks guys for not giving a crap about us people with older phones. Your loss.

I have tried a number of apps but this is by far the best I have tried. I truly enjoy the human voice reading rather than the computer voice from others.

Nice but could use improvements

Updated: nicely improved since my first review. They have paid and free options. Audio and diction has significantly improved. Some news stories are long form which is suitable for the serious news junkie ----------------------------------- How about a 1.5x or 2.0x playback. How about syncing news preferences across devices. And is anyone trying to improve the text to voice capabilities of the bots? Great app for news readout though.

Great overall? Only issue tens to have problems with mixing up addresses for local news, but has tons of sources and is great when it works.
