Outdated

I liked this app when I first downloaded it a year or two ago, but it’s outdated now. For example, reddit now has built-in crossposting functionality that hasn’t made its way to this app. The report function also needs to be fixed. According to a mod I talked to, the reports I made recently through this app didn’t register.

Can’t post anything on subreddits.

Inconsiderate icon design

Quality reviewer

The devs mentioned that a lot of people complain about the icon, but that they have no intention on changing it. It's weird right. You don't see such complaints on other Reddit apps. But the devs are perfectly fine to tell you to go elsewhere if you are unhappy. Wouldn't it be polite to respect the user a bit.... Maybe not use a color scheme and art direction that clashes with every color scheme and wall paper you could pick? Many different people want a solid Reddit app. To go "well we like the design so we won't change it"... Isn't that an indicator of a developer who doesn't care? Any time this app is brought up, the design of it, the mascot eating bacon... The devs have no respect for the breadth of content that can be consumed on Reddit and how cohesive a dolphin eating bacon and a vegetarian subreddit might mesh. Or maybe adults who look at philosophy subreddit who are looking for a more serious experience. It's just a selfish decision, and I hope developers star really caring about what the people want. Edit: and the fact that you can customize the app icon means nothing. This creepy cartoon is still everywhere in the interface.

Amazing reddit app.

I absolutely love this app. I came from Samsung using the official Reddit app on there, not knowing which one I would like on iOS. I tried multiple and they just didn’t feel right until I downloaded narwhal. Everything is perfect on it. If there were feedback I would like to provide, it would be some sort of way to save your shortcuts so you don’t have to add them each time you reinstall the app.

Fine app, but not a fan of the ads

Nonchalant Hiker Dude

The app was efficient and did what I expected, my only complaint was the brightly colored advertisement at the bottom of the page that would tire my eyes out at night when in dark mode. I don’t notice it during the day, but I’m not a fan of ads so I just switched to their competitor and they don’t have ads at the bottom of the scroll page. Problem solved.

Crashes constantly since last update

SanDiagoo

Generally this is one of the better Reddit clients, although not as feature rich as Slide for Android. However, it has become unusable in the past few weeks since an upgrade that was meant to fix bugs. It crashes every minute on my iPad.

Latest Version Crashes

brewmasterthis

As others have said, latest update crashes within a minute ?

Only app still works for me for Reddit

Would be 5/5 otherwise.

The update locked me out

Rabbitisawildhare

I adore Narwhal however, the last update causes my IPad to crash when I open it. I would really like to uninstall that July 23rd update that has ruined my ability to use Narwhal.
