WiFi problems are password related

For all those in previous reviews having trouble connecting a Dyson device to WiFi, part of the issue is the likely very secure password you are using. This includes those folks who’s app disconnects from the Dyson device halfway through setup. It turns out that the Dyson devices will only accept a few non-alphanumeric characters in the password. For example, a period “.” Is okay, but a dollar sign ($) is not. It turns out that Dyson employs genius mechanical and electrical engineers, but their software developers know absolutely jack about network security. For me, since I am unwilling to change the very secure password on my 30 IoT and other devices just to accommodate a really cool fan and air filter, it will be going back to the store. One Dyson support tech suggested that their highest end device “might” work since it is newer. My reply is that if that’s so, then Dyson should update the firmware on all of their devices to support accepted network security standards. Their lack of concern over this is unacceptable, hence the one star rating. It’s a shame, otherwise the Dyson Hot+Cool Link is a really great fan.

You cannot make hot air blow out only cool so pretty much this app is useless. It’s a waste of your phone space because you’re have to use the remote control anyway.
This update broke the remote control feature on my 7+ (12.4)

This update just keeps saying can not connect when using the remote feature. Brand new Crytomic space heater and I can’t use it remotely. Smh. Update: been in contact with Developers, 10 days, still nothing. App loses WiFi connection during remote control engagement with 4.6. Still works perfectly in both 4.5 versions.

How can a company who creates such good product but this incompetent at design an app. You would think when you shell out this much for heap filter pairing it would be easy, and the people behind love chat would be useful and be knowledge about how to fix the product. So does the hepa pair to the network. Nope Does live chat know what they’re doing. Nope Just a failure on so many levels
Scheduling function do not work at all.

Yes. The APP is great. But the “most” important function do not work at all. Why don’t you just join HomeKit? Awful experience. Would you please fix it up? THX VERY MUCH FOR MY TIME WASTED ON THIS APP.

Version 4.6.20020 broke the ability to turn On/Off Oscillation via the app. I can’t even open the Oscillation screen which also blocks me from manually setting the direction of the fan (a feature I used all the time before this update). Please fix the Oscillation remote control features via the app!
