This works quite reliably. The only issue I have is there is a lag, sometimes significant, between when lightning strikes and notifications.

I got the app for use when I ride my road bicycle. Getting caught in an electrical storm is no fun. Also, I use the app when I am on my ham radio. Thus far, it seems to be accurate and has not let me down.
