Pop up ads and random shut downs

I like the stories, when I get to see them. I can't get through the top new articles without at least half of them shutting down the app completely or having a pop up ad appear that won't go away. Every update seems to make these problems worse. It's easier to just go to the website of the browser than to fight with the app.

Used to use this app all the time and it was great. Now the pop up ads are the worst I've ever seen in any app I've ever had! This app also uses over a GB of storage! Why?!? Deleted app, might come back if they get there stuff together.

I thought my phone had a glitch, but after reading the recent reviews I realized that others are having the same problems with pop-up ads, sudden shut downs, etc. The "free IPhone 7 offers" are particularly annoying. I have to believe that these pop-ups compromise the security of my device. I hope you guys can fix the app bc I prefer Fox 8 WGHP over the other local stations. However, for now,I feel like I am being forced to delete this app and go to another local station.

We begin by tapping and opening the app. The Fox 8 logo appears for a couple of seconds and then the top news stories load. Sounds alright. Wait..... about 10 seconds after the stories have loaded, the app comes to a freeze. We can't even close the app until it unfreezes, which it will within 30 seconds or so. Alright, we are past the glitchy freezey thing. So we tap a story we would like to read. Now come the ads. All apps and websites have them, no problem right? Well, a lot of these ads block the story until you tap the ad to open a browser window. Ok, we got the ad viewed and we are on the story about "amazing video captured". Oh, but wait. There is a story about the "amazing video", but no video.....hmmm. Ok, we just pick another story, go through the ad thing again, and.....Bam, the whole app closes. This is such an awesome app!

I prefer Fox 8 for local news, weather, and info. Use to be "ok" with the app. However, there are pop up ads very regular while you're in the middle of reading an article, some you could not close (just kept popping up) and couldn't even finish the story! Good news is, I don't get the pop up ads anymore... because it CRASHES EVERY 10 SECONDS!!!! There isn't enough time to load an ad!

Unreliable most of the time. Would be useful for when our antenna won't catch the channel signal. And the Roku app has no live news at all. I'd say that live streaming is not WGHPs strong suit.

How useless an app is the new FOX8 Apple TV app. Content is out of date and no Live news streaming. This never should've been released without that functionality engaged. Pretty worthless at this point so we still stream Charlotte news channel 8 because at least their app is ready for prime time on Apple TV.
