It works! I like it.

Muse experience

Guitar M&M

I have had my MUSE for two weeks now. It has helped me tremendously in beginning my commitment to meditation. Having a guide / guidance to assist me in meditation, as well as a means of getting measurable results has been great.

Best way to unlock and understand mindfulness

I absolutely love the muse headband and app products. It actually makes meditation something I look forward to because of the new insights I gain about myself every time I use it. I especially love the way you can journal your journey to keep track of how you feel and what particularly you did to get into calmer mind states. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to shift their mindset through a meditative practices.

DISAPOINTING!!!

#Alan Walker Lover??

First of all the battery for the headband runs out so quickly and I hate it!Also half the stuff is locked and you need to buy it so basically it’s a real meditate that you need to pay for,WAIST OF TIME!!???? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Disappointed

The Muse headband is fussy to adjust but works. The software is confusing, inconsistent. Not many guided exercises ( at least without a subscription), a bit of a hodgepodge, and the voices often annoying. The biofeedback does work but I for one am unsure what to do with it. I will keep trying it but for me an app like Headspace is richer and more of a learning experience, even without the biofeedback.

In the zone

So many times I believed I am meditating when in actuality as I practiced measured by muse, I realized I was not in the zone. Muse it’s accurate, the moment you focus on your breath and let go of any other thoughts you hear the birds. The moment you are thinking about something you hear the rain, which helps wash away that’s tough. Great experience with the device

Do not waste your money

Good luck trying to connect the device. If you manage to do so once the connection will break immediately thereafter. The headband is made of very cheap materials. It just does not feel sturdy enough. It is frankly, very cheaply made. Of course there is always the follow-up that the meditations require a subscription. No surprise there but there is not even one proper meditation, even a 5 minute one as a sample to give it a go? Putting all that aside the headband just does not work. Shame.

More trouble than its worth

After being contacted by the developer, I’ve set all the sounds to silence. I did get a gong at the end of the session so the Muse app does function as a stand alone timer. This app needs constant attempts at workarounds (don’t use AirPods as makes headband connection more iffy). What would probably make this work for me is to have a setting which allowed me to meditate in my own ambient sound environment as an option rather than all the effort put into making other, better, more interesting ambient sound tracks (where’s the Apple Music & maybe an audiobook addition to help meditation?). Just an option for “Real life sounds where you are in the here & now”? And then being able to adjust for other sounds. I am so glad I did NOT use this app in my first years as a meditator! The idea of seeing brain effects is intriguing but all the bells & whistles interferes more than helps. I don’t think it would give a new meditator many basics in traditional Vipassana meditation or in Kabot-Zin’s Mind Body Stress Reduction meditation. ————— Original review below Getting the Muse connected every morning and waiting, sometimes several minutes, for it to fully connect, delays meditation & often introduces frustration. As a long-time meditator returning to practice, I thought it might be useful. However, there is always some noise, music or bird sounds in the background which I do not find helpful. Maybe it works? I can’t really tell. There is, however, a non-stop effort to sell guided meditations. Again, annoying. It is possible to meditate using the app without the Muse device, with no constant noise in the background. In other words, a $200 timer
