Use the multitouch screen to manipulate the view. Spin above the surface, or switch to Telescope mode to see the Moon as it appears from your location on Earth. Adjust the display time and watch the sunlight shift over the lunar landscape. A "tag cloud" floats just above the surface, labeling terrain features and spacecraft; touch any label to find out more about that feature. Moon Globe also shows you where the Moon and Sun are in the sky with its dynamic sky compass.
PLEASE NOTE: Regular Moon Globe is a smaller download and is free. This HD version has slightly, not extremely, better resolution.
I use this great app every time I use my telescope. I use it to determine which lunar feature I will view & investigate. Although I haven’t had the app for long, it has become an useful lunar tool.
Fantastic "globe" of our very own Luna with many useful links to learn more about landings, spacecraft and projects on the Moon. Really great!
Why did you delete the pyramid I found on the North Pole, between the Whipple and Boch Craters???????????????
At any scale, this app has the most realistic rendering of the moon and its features that I have ever seen.
Have had it for several months now and I find it is a useful observing aid. I like the refractor view.
Great app. Easy to use. I would like to see a couple of additions and changes. Adding a better ephemeris with information on the phase, age, moon's longitude of the solar sub lunar point and the sun's selenographic co-longitude would make it more useful for amateur astronomers. I would also like to see better definition of the lunar terminator. There is not enough demarcation between day and night making it hard to determine the phase.
