Moonlight Mahjong features four main types of play:
• Scramble Mode: Match tiles faster than the automated opponent "Tilebot" through increasingly difficult levels. The board is automatically reshuffled when you run out of matches, making this game mode easy to start and fun, yet challenging on the higher levels.
• Challenge Mode: Compete against Tilebot in full puzzle mode, with no automatic reshuffling, only undo. Challenge requires more strategy than Scramble. This is the ‘pure’ form of the game, but it is difficult!
• Puzzle Mode: Solve puzzle boards with no time limit. Choose any layouts you like. This is the original game mode, what people usually think of as Mahjong Solitaire.
• Relaxation Mode: Clear boards with no time limit and automatic reshuffling when out of matches. Perfect for when you're just not in the mood to strategize or rush.

The concept and execution of this game are simple and yet it's been able to keep me entertained for years now. The variety of layouts help keep gameplay fresh. Rotating layouts is intuitive and makes gameplay more challenging.

Love,love this game,play everyday I am frustrated, can't finish a game, out of tile options. There has been no game to complete. Usually the speed is so fast I can no longer finish a game. What's going on with this used to be great game.? I've been playing for at least 3 yrs.

I'm really good at this game and have been playing for years. I love the game and the app, but the problem is when you reach the more difficult puzzles, the computer has an unfair advantage. Some of the more complex 3D puzzles that require a lot of rotation are nearly impossible to beat because the computer doesn't have to rotate it's puzzle at all. That's hardly fair. Also, the computer cheats sometimes (I've noticed between levels 40-50). Sometimes when I'm way ahead of the computer, the computer's tiles will simply DISAPPEAR mysteriously causing the computer to win. UPDATE: I appreciate the only being knocked back one level instead of 3, but the computer bot still had an unfair advantage on the puzzles that require rotation, because the bot does not have to waste time rotating the puzzle. Also, the speed of the not has increased SIGNIFICANTLY with the recent update. Nearly impossible to beat. And still seeing an issue with the bots tiles disappearing and causing the bot to win.

When other games are in wait mode to refill lives, this game never disappoints. It is the best, and I've played it for years. Worth paying the small price to have no ads.
Bot is too fast

I have enjoyed this app for some time now, but the update to take you back one level instead of three did make the bot go much faster, as others have said. Way too fast for me. I don't play much now, because it's just not fun anymore.
