Can't edit Preset Phrases!!!!

Why in the world are the preset phrases locked so you can't edit them in piano roll view? This makes no sense at all. The remix feature is not as good as being able to edit the presets to make your own changes. Yes lock them from being over written , but not from being copied and then edited and saved with new name.Come on Yamaha , get it right !!! You don't deserve 5 stars unless you Stop the nonsense

Great app for fleshing out songs. The remix feature helps take your melody and quickly come up with different variations. There are so many little tools in the this app, once you start working through it, that really make writing music much easier. The sounds are ok, but you can use IAA or MIDI to control other sound generators or external hardware. All in all I am finding more and more uses for it. I only wish they would allow you to pick the MIDI channels for each track instead of just going from 1 to 8 or add 8 more tracks.

Does NOT import MIDI (SMF) file

CANNOT import MIDI files! You can export a SMF (?) So if you have been working on MIDI files with some other app/software/hardware/etc, this app will do you no good because you cannot import your previous work. They should have a disclaimer stating "Does not import MIDI files". Very disappointed!

Powerful Sequencer

Yes, this app could benefit from midi import and some other added features, but it is a powerful midi sequencer absolutely loaded with top-quality built-in sounds. It's great for live performance and writing/composition. And, Yamaha has done a good job of delivering added features in updates. In addition to midi import, I'm hoping for midi control of transport and other parameters, along with more and more flexible effects. But in the meantime, this app is working well for me.

Time signature improvements please

(1) needs user-defined time sigs in x/4 x/8 and x/16 not just 3/4 & 4/4. (2) time signatures per phrase, not per project, so that you can make songs that have time sig changes. Critical for styles other than pop & straight ahead rock. (3) tempo per phrase, not per project, so you can have mid-song tempo changes. I'm a guitar player so I am mainly using this to jam along with drum & bass phrases, I love the remix feature to keep things from getting stale. The time sig and tempo improvements would add a 5th star AFAIC.

I love it just needs improvements on the midi side of things

This is what i needed as a compositional tool and as a live sequencer but there is a Midi delay and glitch when you change from section to section, even if you chain play. Fix that and its all i need.

This thing is great. Really good audio app. Even better, got it for FREE. Which is REALLY cool. Good presets, interapp synth capabilities, it's good. Only reason I don't give it five stars is because it doesn't have automation or audio clip capabilities... Still. Awesome app, guys
