Why bother?

OrMinime

This app is useless and the Mini Connected system is a huge disappointment. I was looking forward to Mission Control and to be able to control my iphone with the car. Please make this more user friendly.

Stinks

Golfaglenn

Mini connected now stinks but able to access web radio via BMW Connected app

Does not record longer trips, crashes!

jimmyselix

I drive a 150miles to my parents farm and everytime i’ve tried to have Connected on and when i arrive at destination, the app crashes and never records the long trip. App interface is much cleaner than older one but TONS of features removed that I was sold on in 2013. Suggestions: Please add an Apple Watch app to show you last location of MINI and perhaps gas remaining too. Add more car info to the sport display and ability to have a different colored face, possibly colors that match our interior mood lights.

Lame

"Update" is not a word which applies to this version. All the functionality of the previous version is just gone. It's completely different. They replaced everything I used before with a goofy app called Streetwise which has only limited application. It's like they looked at Waze and thought we can do better. The only, and I mean only, thing about this version which has merit are the sport instruments which add a water temp gauge - and that's useful. With this update, they really give the finger to the user because they obviously didn't give a crap that someone might have used some of the features in the prior version. Why not provide an alternate version - a different Mini Connected in addition to the prior one instead of saying FU to people who wanted to keep the features that were there before? It's a bit like selling a word processing app and then doing an automatic update and suddenly that app only does spreadsheets. It's so clueless about the user experience it completely changes my opinion of Mini.

Needs more work!

I would prefer mini allow Bluetooth connectivity with this app! It needs to be connected to work? I bought a 2016 and it would seem technology wise would take 10 steps forward not back! It needs more interaction with streetwise, it remembers destination but when you select destination it doesn't speak directions. It must be UPDATED!! BMW needs to be more technical with apps that connect to your vehicle! It needs work

Still no "Send to car" !

SelimBH

App still useless without the "Send to car" feature.

Beyond crushing disappointment

If I could give a -5 star review I would. This upgrade is a downgrade. Ugh. Is there any way to get the old version back????????

Hate the update

Mini took away all the cool.

Skip MINI Connected. Get an aux cable and dash mount

This new version is OK, but they threw out the baby with the bathwater with v3, by that I mean the parts of the app that were actually good, like the web radio app. (I suspect a kickback, or ultimatum, from Stitcher Mission Control was fun and amusing for new passengers — gone. I miss it. The driver evaluation app seemed to be written by a High School safety instructor — gone. I don’t miss it. The scoring seemed wrong for a performance car with “go kart” feel, that’s sold as a fun car. Web radio was a good, no frills part of the app that just worked — gone. I miss it. Twitter and FaceBook — gone. Good riddance. They did not fix the parts of the app that were broken by the Lightning connector. The list of supported apps is really small. These are apps that you can control with the car’s interface and are launched by the MINI Connected app. It would be nice if MINI worked to add more apps to this list, with choices in the web radio and podcast categories. I don’t know if this part of the app represents a revenue stream for BMW — if it does, that model doesn’t match what they’re selling in MINI Connected. The Tune-in web radio app really needs you to buy a $10/month subscription. The Podcast app, Stitcher, needs a monthly fee and a connection to their server, which when it fails you lose access to your saved podcasts. The user interface on the dash is just bad, for both Tune-in and Stitcher. Audible’s app is great, when the current version isn’t crashing. When people ask me about buying a MINI (I have a 2013, my iPhone is a 5s), I recommend that they pass on MINI Connected. I certainly regret buying it. At best it’s a frivolous distraction. You’re better off getting a dash mount and an aux cable for your iPhone.

Worthless

I was looking forward to using the “cool” features of the app, which was truly one of the reasons I purchased the connected option. When plugged in, I can’t even access all the “supported” connected apps (Pandora, Amazon Music) from the infotainment screen with the phone connected and the Connected App running on my phone. I have to actually switch out of the app to Amazon Music, which means I no longer have access to the additional “meters” that are included in the connected app as the phone app is not recognized as running. So I can either listen to my music or have access to the included apps/meters. Very disappointing.I’ve already logged a case with mini-usa complaining to restore the features that made the car stand out more.
