You need hearts to code and you have to wait 4 hours just to get one just to fail again I would give this a 5 star but needing something to code should not be a thing for a coding app

This could be a good thing or a bad thing but to tell you the truth, I can answer some of the questions without even having to read it and without looking at the table. I have to discipline myself by not answering the question before reading. This makes it simpler for students “learning” to just tap without realizing the consequences. I am not able to write a proper line of code in the playground and i’ve even already competed the basics of Python. If i were to provide an idea that I think may work is to allow us to adjust our own difficulty OR have the app automatically adjust the difficulty according to the level of the student

This is all in all a good app. This paired with freecodecamp is a wonderful tool to learn to code. However there are a couple issues. Some exercises have the same answer bubble on them and if you click on it is says incorrect. That needs to be fixed. Another thing is the heart system. I have to wait FOREVER like pretty much a whole day to have hearts back which is ridiculous when I want to progress. I understand you have to make money but you already are making profit off ads so can the hearts fill a little faster? Other than that, great app.

It’s really easy to see this app is literally a gift, people eager to learn to code/begin their journey— this is it. Don’t know where to go to practice code? It’s right here. You could waste many hours watching inspirational videos, and that’s fine, but when it comes to finding a place to practice and teach you at the same time, Mimo is a playground. Oh and I’m also blown away that it’s free. I’ve gotten so much use of it already and seen enough results that I’ll probably pay for the premium soon. Love it and good job guys!

If you are a parent who cares about protecting your kids and controlling what they can access online DO NOT download this app. The creators of Mimi foolishly have ignored the fact that the Playground area of the app can easily be used to circumvent parental controls with regard to websites. All a child has to do is code a hyperlink to Google and he/she has access to the entire internet - regardless of what your restrictions are in iOS. Additionally the playground is full of JavaScript apps that are inappropriate for young children. The final straw was when my 7 year old accessed a “Day of Death” application in the playground. Fix the parental controls Mimo!

It’s really good, but it could be better, for example they should make it easier to go to a certain lesson when you don’t understand something, I was stuck on something minor for a while, and had to go threw a ton of prior lessons to find it. I don’t know if that little thing in the top left corner is meant for that but it doesn’t work.
Not What It Truly Says
So far, so good!! Gotta say, I’m learning the new stuff on the block at a pace just for me! Fun, fun, fun!!

Requirement of a cc or a “free trial” is not a free app with in app purchases. Strait out false advertising. If the only thing you can do with a “free” app is sign up for a paid service. It’s not a free app.

Great idea in theory. The app itself seems great and the activities are engaging, but there are so many bugs. Invited a few friend to join so I can get the offered 1 week free pro and skip to where I want to learn but it still hans’t even arrived. Can’t find a support portal anywhere and when I got the email, they had the most lack luster response which is basically “it should fix itself eventually.” The app customer service is so pretentious and fake. They have a community tab you can see but you can’t participate in. What? They let you freeze your streak. Why would I care about a streak? The coins are pointless and the things you learn are so shallow. Additionally, the activities seem good, but they don’t lead to too much retention.
