Very Helpful Tracker!! Some Minor Improvements Could Make It Even Better

user number 0116

I’ve had chronic migraines for years and only recently sought out help from a neurologist who recommended this app. I only use the free version but I still find it incredibly useful and user friendly. At first I was overwhelmed with all the different things you can record during a migraine attack, but I realized you can modify what information you want to keep track of and tailor it to what’s important for to you. Personally I like the research articles and community information this app shares and it’s been very informative on what may be impacting my migraines. There are a few things I wish the app could streamline or adjust: 1. When recording notes during a migraine, there’s a button that auto populates the time and date with phrases like “I took this drug:” It would be nice if after hitting that button you could select an option from the list of meds usually recorded in the Medication section. (The less typing during a migraine attack the better!) Similar things could be done for pain scales with number pop ups and so on. 2. In the summary section for pain onset location it would be nice to be able to visualize this data better. I think a heat map superimposed on the diagram used when recording this information during an attack would be helpful. Especially if someone (life myself) selects multiple locations for where the pain onset occurs. 3. The calendar section of the records menu could be improved by making it more customizable. It currently shows length of attacks, severity of attacks, and sleep duration. Personally I would like to see at a glance what days I used a certain medication. Making the calendar more customizable would also be helpful in relaying information at doctor appointments. Overall the app is really great at tracking and giving you data/insights on your migraines. I appreciate the app trying to improve and help the community of migraine sufferers. Many thanks to Migraine Buddy team!

Great!

I wish I could just log the migraine without being required to come back and set an end time and go threw and enter everything else. At times I like the option of entering everything but at times I’m to sick to even try to enter all of that.

So helpful

This app is so amazing. With all the options and questions it really helps you track everything regarding symptoms and headaches. As a nurse , I even recommend to all my patients.

Formerly great; now a nightmare pay-to-play game

I need the app to do one thing: track the times and severities of my headaches. It used to do that very well. Now, this basic functionality is buried in a flurry of aggressive pitches to buy the premium product, to enable notifications, to read drug ads, etc. Many UX changes have decreased usability.

I love it but I have a recommendation

I love this app my bf recommended it after an exhausting 64 hr migraine I only wish it would let you show the progression of the migraine and all the different symptoms that happened throughout without overwriting your original episode

Best app available for chronic headaches.

Great app, has plenty of good information, helps with annotating all your symptoms and medications and tactics you’ve tried to manage your headaches.

Still using the app after 2years

The only good way to find out if medication is really working is to have data to compare it to. I’ve been tracking my headaches and migraines for two years and the app has been very helpful. Its easy to input information and I can skip anything and back to it later. Recently I had a problem with the app slowing down and emailed customer support. They were super helpful and got my problem straightened around right away. Didn’t even lose any data. Great app and great people!

I love this app!

I am so grateful to have finally found a way to track my symptoms in relation to the weather. I am certain that there is a very specific correlation, but have never been able to collect accurate data. I only wish the app included definitions for each types of headache (cluster, etc.). I have been told that I am describing a migraine, but in the moment of an attack I can check symptoms much more accurately against the different criteria.

Love it, but …

I love Migraine Buddy, I really do, but I can’t figure out the best way to use it for my needs. I have tried it off and on for years. I have a headache or migraine 24/7 so the “attack” never goes away. The pain levels fluctuate and it will go into a migraine. If I had my perfect app, I would like to be able to record the pain level and symptom changes throughout the day as well as when it goes into a migraine. I know this is possible in the Notes section, but I would like to be able to see this data in a report where my doctor can see the changes my head goes throughout the day, at what time I took medicine or tried a specific relief, and how the numbers changed after trying this or that. I don’t want to go back through each attack and look through the notes section to find when my pain levels or symptoms changed. It would also be nice to see my average daily pain level numbers. It’s almost like I need to be able to edit my original entry (like we can now), but then also add to it as the day goes on. For me, I don’t necessarily care how long my attack goes (because it is always 24/7), but how it changes through the day and from one day to the next. I don’t even know if it is possible, but if anyone can figure it out, it is Migraine Buddy. So far, I feel Migraine Buddy is the best migraine app out there (I’ve tried A LOT), but it just isn’t meeting my needs at the moment. However, through the years I have seen so many positive changes with the app. You can really tell how the developers are trying to make this app meet our needs. Once again, I stopped paying for the app and went back to the free version. I’ll continue to use it for just the migraine attacks as it works perfect for that, but not for my day in and day out headaches.
