Amazing

I’ve never done workouts or any type of sport before but this made it so easy to get fit along with keep up a workout schedule! It also made me feel safer and stronger.

Could be perfect

This is a great app and a fun way to get in shape. My only problems are that you can’t opt out of doing certain workouts or switch them out. It’s very all or nothing. It’s frustrating. Certain workouts are much more difficult than others and the only way to rate it is by categorizing the entire thing. Another thing is that there isn’t enough of a cool down. I’d also really love if there were more tips to protect yourself from getting hurt while doing the workout. Almost threw out my back while doing kicks. Usually in kickboxing classes, they’ll give you tips to ensure you don’t injure yourself, there isn’t much of that.

Love the app, however..

I had to replace my phone, and none of my progress on the app was saved. Now I am going back through the entire program. The refreshers are nice but a bit frustrating.

I feel better about my night runs

AMichStarr

I’m so happy to say this app does not disappoint. I prefer an at home workout, which this gives me. But on occasion I run at night or early am before the sun is up and I always felt a little uneasy. This makes me feel more confident and safe.

Great app!

Super impressed by this new twist in workout apps. Well produced videos, simple to understand techniques, and a great combo of self defense and fitness knowledge. Never seen a fitness app focus on that before. Big fan!

Learn while working out

Great app. Rare combination of learning a new skill (Self Defense) while getting in shape. $5/mo is way less than fitness or self defense classes and the fact that it’s an app means you can use it anywhere.

Love it!

The workouts are super thought out, I love the coaching approach and structure. I really feel like I’m learning with each new lesson.

Cool!

This is awesome.

Subscription mandatory. Training iffy at best. Buy pepper spray and a loud whistle or get professional self defense training. Don’t trust an app to save your life.

Useful, do-able, empowering

MissJubilee

TLDR: 90% love this app, but wish it was just a little more customizable. ~ As someone who generally doesn’t like “exercise” but knows she should, and who’s too slow/poor for dance classes but would love to actually be good at some sort of gross-motor skill that’s either useful or beautiful, this app was exactly what I needed. The yearly fee seemed high until I considered that I would pay an in-person teacher just as much for just a few lessons, plus have to travel to his/her gym. There’s a suitable variety of short training videos before the workouts - a balance of moves, theory, and mental/emotional empowerment. The workouts are short enough to fit into my busy mornings but also around the right level of challenge, with the option to mark workouts as too hard, too easy, or just right. My one wish is that I could pinpoint which exercises/types of exercises are too hard or too easy. I was shortcutting on several hard ones involving abs and arms because I just couldn’t do them fully, and finally decided to mark a workout as “too hard,” but now I get fewer combos - which I was enjoying - and less aerobic exercise - which I need - and still one or two core exercises that are too hard. (Jackknives?! Are you kidding me?! I couldn’t even do the bicycles and plank pushups before I hit “too hard”!) That’s cut into my enthusiasm a bit, but there’s still plenty of good learning and I suppose eventually it will work back up to a more interesting level and I can just keep taking shortcuts on the exercises that I can’t do. And maybe one day I’ll find I can do them!
