Most useful note keeping for me

stophanie

It has features that help me keep track of the mess in my brain. For work, I like to have a tab for work accomplishments, and then I create a page for each work week underneath. I can make pages subset to others, so I can arrange work weeks by year, etc, and then collapse them so I don’t have to look at tons of pages on the side panel. The organizational style is pretty intuitive for my needs, and it helps me quickly recall details about things that might have happened weeks before. I like the features. I can insert or create page templates. I can paste in pictures and drag them around, or use any kind of text. I can draw and mark up notes. I’ve also used this across desktop and mobile and it is handy to switch quickly from platform to platform. On top of this, I’ve used this with teams of people to keep track of tasks, so we can all know what’s going on with each other. I like to keep tabs for training notes/reference, for meeting notes, etc. I also keep a separate OneNote notebook if I have a personal project (like a D&D game).

Perfect

Perfect for saving anything I might need on the go. I keep recipes so I can check out the ingredients from the grocery store and work docs to use between work and home. I also use the Office Lens app to save meeting notes straight from the whiteboard.

Nice Notes App

A great way to structure a variety of different ideas as well as business items.

OneNote is a saver

nt970

I’ve used OneNote since 2008 for work as well as for personal notes. It’s a practical and reliable application on desktop and mobile (web version is not as good, though) and I love the integration with OneDrive and Sharepoint.

Amazing app for almost everything..

Shahab Ab

It's the best note taking app with great OCR feature built-in. Amazing performance across all your devices But I want more: (Please hear US): Handwriting or inking or drawing. It's indispensable for a note taking app. I got really disappointed when drawing enabled for word and other office apps while OneNote left alone! I don't know why MS is silent about this feature on iPhone while both android and iPad have it.. I am pretty sure it couldn't be impossible for Ms. I use onenote for digitizing my everything.. In some cases app startup is fairly poor for taking a quick note..please fix that too. Unless onenote is on top of its kind.

Sync problems

The Membership

I've tried OneNote of and on for two years, mostly because Evernote dies such a horrible job capturing web pages from my iPhone. OneNote has many great features, mobile web capture isn't one of them, but still it's worth considering. However here's a warning: OneNote is terrible if you use more than one device. For more than an entire year, I have been unable to force OneNote to sync between three devices. This absolutely renders it unusable for anything important. Don't waste your time, if syncing is at all necessary to your workflow. Otherwise, maybe it's a good took for you.

Some OCR would be nice

This is a great app because I love the password protection and one drive sync. For me the only missing part is ocr and drawing gestures like strike through to erase something. I hope they add those soon.
