One application for all your trips: download the cities you need and search your route by subway, bus, tram, railway... (depending on cities). NO network connection is required after you have installed the cities.
Find the best route from your current location and check the map of the surroundings from within the program (in main cities).
Transportation networks evolve frequently, so does MetrO! We provide weekly updates, including the latest changes. For a few cities, you even have access to data taking into account temporary disruptions, monitored day to day.
Don't forget that MetrO is the result of a collective effort: our data can be kept up to date only with your help!

One of the oldest most effective transit apps EVER!!! I first came to it when the Palm i705 came out; this app been every single mobile device I’ve had. I Always forget to donate to the developer, My Bad. Best of all: as as you download your appropriate maps to this app, you won’t need internet, map files are usually less than half an mp3 file. Four stars on account of the GPS feature never working and that it is difficult to find in apps stores across all platforms, even when through their website. Thank you!

You download the cities you are going to before you leave your country and you can access all the metro info available for that city on the app with no network connection. That means while you are underground you can still look at all the stops on the line you are on to validate you are going the right direction and on the right line underground. I've used it in New York, Los Angeles, DC, Madrid, and Rome. Soon to test in Japan in Tokyo and Kyoto!

I started using this app on my Palm Treo, and thought it was good. My DH and I were visiting family in Tokyo, I had MetrO and he had something else. MetrO was so much better than what he had, he downloaded it before we went out the next day. Sure, it has some glitches. On one rail line it said to ride to the end and switch trains. But you have to exit the system and enter the next; if we got off one stop before the end we'd be able to transfer across a platform. My Treo is dying a long, slow death, but I've already downloaded MetrO for my new iPhone.

This app is amazing for European travel. You can even enter your nearest metro station and popular destinations and it will give you directions. I have had less luck with it in the US (probably because our public transport isn't as good), but in Europe and South America it has been great.
