What is My Journey? My Journey is a usage based insurance program that records your driving behavior through an app and displays a score that can help improve your driving safety. The app uses information such as total mileage, high speed, and hard braking to calculate an overall driving score. Also included in the app is a driver distraction score, where you can see how cell phone usage in the car can potentially affect your driving safety. The driver distraction score is not used in your overall score calculation.As long as you have your mobile phone in the vehicle with you, the app will run automatically and all you need to do is drive. Very intrusive

I downloaded this app to receive a discount on my car insurance. I am very uncomfortable with this app because it's so intrusive. Your location is always monitored by the app, and your motion is monitored as well. The app uses this info to determine when you're driving. One problem with this is that it records a trip even if you're not driving the car the metlife insures! It dings your score for "harsh acceleration", which must be any time you accelerate from 0-60 in greater than 1 minute. Very disappointed with this app and considering just not taking the discount for using it.

App asks for a phone number but there is no place to enter a phone number into your profile on the MetLife website.

App reduces your score if you are using GPS on your phone while driving. They count this as screen time. Also , if you happen to sit in someone else’s car they record you as driving. Very inaccurate! Disappointed!
Battery life is terrible

I used a similar app for a different insurance company and I noticed little to no difference in my battery life. With this app, however, I noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference from the first day. I usually leave work with 50-70% battery remaining. I now leave work with about 20-30% battery remaining. Very disappointing. This should only require a simple app update. Please fix this soon.

Where to start? Well, the app kills my battery. Even with the phone off and not being used (I.e. overnight), my battery goes from 100-20% in 8 hours. Also, the app is way too sensitive. I’ve been driving like an old lady, and the old ladies have been honking at me because I accelerate so slow and start braking way in advance, and I’m still getting dinged with “harsh access” and “harsh brakes” even though I’m starting and stopping like 20 times slower than everyone else. This thing is ridiculous.

Drains battery. Terrible app just to get discount phone is drained and not able to use in an emergency. Needs serious patches and security updates. I am very disappointed.
