I received an offer in the mail most likely due to some correlation with the credit karma app. At first glance seemed like a great opportunity with them offering me a decent line of credit and a chance to double my credit limit after 7 months of on time payments. They had multiple different card styles and I picked the one I liked the most (making my first impression quite pleasant may I add) with all this great news I’m eagerly waiting for my cards arrival. Flash forward and it arrives sooner than expected. (less than a week) I opened up my envelope with excitement only to realized they didn’t send me the credit card I requested :( I said “you know what, no big deal” it’s about what the card possesses not the style of it. So I go on my phone proceed to the App Store to download the app and activate my new card. Only to find endless bad reviews and see they only have a 2 star rating (which is a super red flag) Upon reading the reviews what was most concerning was the fact that people were having issues with the app and problems with Merrick bank processing payments. I worked hard to get my credit where it is today and didn’t want to take any chances on some “scammers” so I called merrick bank to see what’s up and in no way, shape or form did the try to deny or defend these claims to give me any reassurance I was in good hands (which was alarming). Their reps where careless to the matter and sounded like they didn’t want to be there. I closed my account immediately. IF YOURE READING THIS RUN FROM MERRICK BANK! Your credit worthiness is so important and they just want to take your money and don’t care if your credit or future is effected by their scam. Plus a lot of people reported problems right before their credit limit increase period! “F*cking Scammers”

Want to make multiple phone calls with ridiculous hold times??? Hold times can be 30 mins to 2 hours and 15 mins. SERIOUSLY!!! After the rep answers the phone they transfer you to the wrong department and you have wait again for at least 30 mins. I am not making this up! This is any given day… not just busy times. DO NOT GET A CARD WITH THIS COMPANY! Thanks for nothing Credit Karma!

There’s NO way in the app or online to report your card missing or stolen. There isn’t an email or chat option either. I sat in hold for an HOUR today before I finally gave up.

I’m tired of downloading this apps. It keeps disappearing. It seems like a monthly problem. I will use it for awhile then gets evaporated! Merrick, please fix the problem. It is the only way you attract more customers if error free.

NOT A LEGIT BANK. Do not get their card if you want to keep your money. They have no contact information besides one phone number that they never answer. They will drown you into debt and then you will never be able to access the account; which is my current situation. There is no justice in this. There is no way they can be liable. They will not answer your request. You are horrible people.
Use It To Rebuild Credit Then Dump It!

This only use for this card is to help build your credit score. Once you’ve moved on to better cards, dump this one. The app is garbage. There were months when for no reason I could figure out, I couldn’t sign in. The annual fee is spread out over 12 months causing you to have to go in and pay $4 so you don’t get hit with a late charge and a hit to your credit. It’s designed for you to fail. Worst thing is, I want to cancel it and I cant figure out how.
