FIX THE APP

Omar the Science Guy

I just want to read my god forsaken PDF’s. It cannot even load a small amount of papers in a folder without taking a DUMP. Great app when it works - can count on 1 hand the number of successful times it decided to load.

Slow

So slow always crushed waste time

Not proper app for Mendeley

Col1918

I use the app on my Mac, my Android phone and my iPad. I found very frustrating this app because it lacks of intuitiveness for user. The sync ability is not properly working.

Plenty of bugs

MendelyUser2020

I have been using Mendeley for years, I tried to use it with IOS and it was a mess. The main problem is sincronyzing the papers with the cloud. It does not update correctly. I made changes on the pdf and never gets uploaded to the Desktop. The amount of papers I have in a folder on my desktop or the website don’t match what it shows on the app. Very frustrating to use.

Highlight

NMMstudent

The highlight doesn’t fully work on the app. Very poor use of highlight option, cannot continue on top of the continuing page.

Bad

It was always buggy. Got much worse recently. PDF files on Dropbox it is....

Bugs now and then, but Good

I’m using the app on the iPad, and I will say it’s super nice to have the conveniently synced files on my computer and on the iPad. I really like the apple pen integration. Some of the bugs that I have come across include double-syncing of the folders (two copies of all of my folders existed when I first got the app, and deleting one deleted them both), and the fact that the highlighted portions of the text get continually darker and darker each time I come back to the article, as if I highlighted the same portion over and over again.

Has potential to be much better

Rohit S.

I really like how I can organize documents in Mendeley and have the metadata. But the app doesn’t allow me to write on PDF files with my Apple Pencil.

Lacking

jasgaravito

Its time they update the graphic interface, and the app itself so that it stays competent in today’s mobile world. Specially for iPads which are continuously taking traditional desktop tasks. I think that the integration as a plugin with Microsoft Word would be difficult on iOS, but at least enable an option to copy any reference in the selected format to the clipboard. This app, as it is, seems about 5-7 years behind.

I love it

I’ve been using this consistently for two semesters and had used it previously before taking a break in my program. The interface isn’t Apple-class user friendly, but it is very useful. I haven’t experienced the PDF issues that some user’s have mentioned in reviews, but I’ve been actively reading PDFs this and last semester... in fact, I was only moments. I’d bump up to 5 stars if the interface got cleaned up a bit, but again... it works fine.
