Good PDF reader but can’t add PDFs from app

RossC67

I love to use this app to read PDFs from my iPad but I won’t let me add a arxiv PDF that I have open in my browser - just says it can’t find any paper to add.

Very good

牙刷买牙膏

Good enough for me to read papers. I like the simple IU and the recommendation of other papers. Could you add the favorites and read or unread symbols on the outline? That would be perfect for me. And the figure before each document is useless.

Completely useless on ipad

kfgici

Every time I open this app it freezes then crashes. Useless

Haven’t yet been able to use the app

This app was my main reason to attempt transferring my library from Zotero to Mendeley. Sadly, the app simply cannot sync with my library (even after limiting my import to the essential documents for my active projects). I just want to read journal articles from my tablet and store the files in a way that’s synced with my desktop and laptop. So far it’s looking like I’ll need to find another solution

Buggy app

balstaf

A shame because i use Mendeley in Windows and this makes it hard to work on my phone... App takes a lot of time to sync and then freezes. The same if i restart. I had to uninstall/reinstall my app to make it work. Hope things will get fixed in future releases?

Syncing never works.

Sofnenshdk

Syncing never works and it locks up the whole app.

Double highlighting and notes

BROwithsickFLO

App works moderately well, some sync issues which go away after a minute or two of staring at the screen. What is unforgiving is the double and triple highlighting and note taking that occurs (duplicate and triplicate highlights and notes). I would love this app if that problem was solved in iOS/iPadOS. I don't have the problem of the app creating multiple annotations on my windows desktop. Must be an iOS bug the devs haven't had pointed out or are ignoring!

Buggy piece of garbage

Elsevier. I paid a premium for a yearlong subscription to your storage space and although all of my papers are synced there, I am unable to access them on your iOS app. My assessment: it’s a complete rip off. I already review papers for your journals for free. And pay page charges when I publish in them. And the library at my institution pays for access to your journals. Now this with the highway robbery — -$300 for one year’s access to a service that does not even work as advertised. No wonder your profit margins are so high. A reckoning is coming. The more you stoke the outrage with these practices the quicker it will come. I for one vow to stop reviewing for you. And to stop publishing in your journals. And I know I am not the only one.

It freezes when I open it

MuTou37

After I open the app, it shows that small circle (top left) indicating it is syncing. Then everything freezes. Even rotating my iPad does work as normal (it rotates from landscape to portrait mode, but will not rescale, leaving a large black region on the bottom). Frustrating.

Horrible compared to Windows version

AH_AZ

I am shocked at how bad the iOS version is compared to the Windows one. I think calling it stripped down would be an understatement. Things such as abstract and tags/keywords don’t even show up on the pane. Fine, due to space limitations, I could see omitting the abstract. But things like keywords/tags? That’s huge from a search perspective. And to add insult to injury, markups of PDFs done and visible on the PC, including through the Win Mendeley app do not show up on the iOS version. Other PDFs don’t show up at all even though they are “there”. I would think given the popularity of iOS that the team would have a decent app for this platform. If improvements don’t show up soon, will consider abandoning Mendeley altogether.
