Not accurate

casademike

This is fun to play with, but I’m nowhere close to trusting it for even rough approximations. Shows an 11” tall piece of paper as 16”. Shows the width of a 5” bowl as 12”. I’m excited for the future with this stuff. But even as a rough estimation tool, it has a ways to go. Kudos to the dev for pushing this kind of stuff forward though.

Great idea, poor execution

Heavy Plastic

Accuracy is way off, even when following camera and lighting advice from users who seem to accept inaccuracies simply because it is such a cool idea.

Not Accurate

Cool app but not accurate.

Only one tool is free

davidg42

Nice idea with promise. The app description doesn’t clearly say only one tool is available in the free version. It should be revised and set proper expectations. Also, the lines drawn on non-moving objects (a glass of water in my test case) move a little.

Toy at best

Pesea

Great idea, unfortunately + or - 6 inches on something that is 24” long is basically useless.

Works poorly

After choosing a point it jumps to a completely different spot. I had high hopes for this app.

Doesn’t Calibrate

kevinacote

The app used to work, not well, but it worked. Much like previous reviews, the measuring pints float around after you move the camera. But currently calibration never completes and I can’t even use it. I really hope they improve this app, it will be very useful.

Terrible and almost impossible to measure accurately.

nycmetrofamily

One of the worst apps I have purchased. Simple tasks like measuring the width cannot be accomplished. When you pick a starting point (let’s say the left edge) and start extending to the right to measure width, the initial focal point becomes the center of the measurement making it impossible to measure. Completely unintuitive and unusable. Save the money and avoid the aggravation.

Sadly, a failure.

I truly wanted this app to work, and maybe it does with the iPhone X and it’s dramatically improved ability to sense distances accurately, but with my top of the line iPhone 7+, it’s just nowhere near accurate. I carefully followed the directions, calibrated the measurement, paid attention to glare free lighting, moved to and from the points before measuring, moved fast, moved slow, and did everything else I could think of to influence the accuracy in a positive way. The results were, at best 4” short measuring a 36” yardstick. At other times, the distances were ridiculously short when there weren’t enough planar objects in the frame to provide a workable depth measurement. 10’ of floor was measured as 0.3”. Nuff said. Great idea. Valiant effort. I bumped a star for the fun of panning around previous measurements to see where it thought it was measuring on surfaces.

Useless

Garglejob

This thing will give you a completely different number every time you measure the same thing, and none of those numbers are right. It doesn’t work at all.
