Fun and Addicting. Just Needs Tweaks

Maverick997

I have been playing this game since the beginning. There have been some changes, and a huge update at the beginning of the year. At first I was skeptical of the update as it changed in a big way. Before missions got you money and items, which you would use to purchase and upgrade areas. These areas allowed you to do more missions, thus getting you more money. The items, as well as money, allowed you to purchase heroes, and upgrade them. Upgrading heroes changed their costumes, and they would get more money during missions. This was great, but not much variety. Then came the events. These were great in the beginning, because they added more characters to get, such as: Star Lord, Gamora, Daredevil, Foggy Nelson, Moon Knight, Misty Knight, etc. You could even get a hold of other characters like Red Falcon, Moon Girl, Spider Ham, Dracula and Satana. But these events took up most of the game, and when they were done, unless you actually got the characters (or paid with shards to get them, such as Jessica Jones in the Daredevil Event) you were usually left without anything to show for it. Most of the time the events had their own missions, so gaining money and regular experience to advance the story was pretty difficult. Now with the update, you do missions to acquire stamina (energy) to do battles to get experience and money, or items to increase attacks. You gain rarity to gain access to more attacks (such as a multi-enemy hit missile for Iron Man), but the rarity is few and far between. Since the update around January, I have not been able to increase characters such as Wiccan in rarity, since its not available. Or if it is, it’s in an area that’s impossible for me to get to. The events took a slight break, but then they came back. Again, mainly to get characters, but at least you are using your energy to do event missions, and still gain experience to upgrade your characters. Downside, you time and effort usually goes to advancing the event story line, thus your main characters are put on the back burner till its done. And the same issue of the events starting a day or two in between is still an issue. Overall, I like the game, and would love to see what I could do with all my characters, but the events are the only thing that keep getting in the way. I mean as of writing this, I trying to get Quake, but that’s taking up all my time. I guess there are worse things to complain about. I just wish the events and rarity were more balanced. If you want a game that’s addicting, play this one. Just watch out for the money spending. Not required unless you want something specific, but you can get carried away real easy.

This New Version is Pretty Dope

I.D. Jersey City

The in-game upgrade initiated a few months ago seemed a bit excessive, & unnecessarily complicated; but the truth is I love the new intricate fight sequences how they breakdown different heroes w/specialty attributes (Shield=Guard, Heart=Energy, Lightning=Attack) #PlayItEveryday #AllDayLong ?????????

Terrible game

If you like pay to advanced then play but that’s the only way you’ll win at this game

How far it has fallen

I loved this game when it came out. It was like the sims but with super heroes. The events were a bit challenging if you were working on getting a new character or some other achievement. Then came that awful “2.0” update earlier this year. This is not the same game. I play maybe one day out of the month for 15 minutes to a half hour, sometimes twice a month. Before that “revamp” I played everyday for over 5 hours a day average! There has to be some middle ground that takes the best of the previous version and just tweaks it a little so that the characters, costumes, and leveling up were cheaper and easier. None of this stamina from missions and fights for progress. I am disappointed. I only keep this game on my phone to remind me of what was, and to hope for a miracle. I hope someone important reads this and I’m not just writing to have my problems filed away never to be seen again.

Used to LOVE this game

Now I had to delete this game when it still had the old update because I needed some space and when I was looking for a new game to play I decided to download Avengers Academy again but when I start up the game I experience a really bad update I used to love this game and now it’s all gone down the drain.

Good But Could Be So Much Better

Canadia013

This is a fun, interesting game. The events are fun and the imagining of different characters is really cool to see. That being said, I hate the battle system. There is too much left up to chance, where if you just happen to get hit with the wrong status effects, your characters are entirely stuck and get destroyed. There is also no player interaction in battle, which it is designed for, but detracts and makes the times when you lose from luck feel like you've been cheated. The events are also too plentiful; giving you no time to work on the main story or really earn money or shards, which you need to promote your heroes. In closing, the game is good, but if the balancing of the battles and the time spent out of events was more plentiful, then this review could easily be a 4 or 5 star.

Decent freemium game

I love the game in general, but to make real progress in the almost constant “special events” requires shelling out actual money.

Ok
