I follow a number of sailing and yacht accounts on Instagram and it’s great to be able to look up a ship for lots of additional information including current position, weights & dimensions, and pictures. I enjoy the app very much and plan to upgrade.

Made the mistake of purchasing marine traffic for MacBook air. I pay 6$ and it was far less visual or useful. So I Purchased it for my iPad for 4$and I made the mistake the first time but so far reasonably satisfied with the purchase I made for the iPad. I will rate it later

MarineTraffic has great and useful data. However, the app’s GUI is sub-par, making it a frustrating/confusing experience at times. For example, the map is very unresponsive when zooming (entire map disappears when zooming out) and the map is not Retina-optimized.

I am ex Navy and a marine Systems engineer. I found the Operator Interface difficult to use and counter intuitive. This was bad enough, but the cruise ship I was tracking would only update when it was entering or leaving port. Very spotty AIS update. I paid good money for an app that works at most 10% of the time. But if you want to be frustrated Iike I am.
